Michelle Obama: Barack's Pro-Abortion Stand OKs "Sacredness" of Parenthood

Denver, CO (LifeNews.com) -- On the last day of the Democratic convention, Michelle Obama, the wife of the pro-abortion presidential candidate Barack, made a comment that received little notice. Yet, it could come back to haunt Obama as voters remember his off-putting comments about his daughters and abortion.

During a speech at the Women’s Caucus on Thursday, Michelle Obama said her husband would be a “steadfast supporter of women’s right to choose" abortion.

“He’ll protect a woman’s freedom of choice, because government should have no say in whether or when a woman embraces the sacred responsibility of parenthood," she added.

The comment hearkens back to the remarks Barack Obama made in March, when he appeared to back a potential decision by his daughters to seek an abortion saying he wouldn't "punish" them with a baby.

"I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old," Obama said at the time. "I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."

Parenthood is something new John McCain running mate Sarah Palin knows something about.

As many as 80 percent of unborn children diagnosed with Down syndrome become victims of abortion, but Palin didn't let her child become a statistic. Palin, who has deeply-felt pro-life views, gave birth to her fifth child and the baby was diagnosed with the condition.

Palin confirmed her baby, named Trig Paxson, has Down syndrome.

"Trig is beautiful and already adored by us," Palin told LifeNews.com at the time.

"We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives," she said.

'We have faith that every baby is created for good purpose and has potential to make this world a better place. We are truly blessed," the governor added.

Trig was born one month before his due date, and he weighed 6 pounds, 2 ounces.

The government has ALWAYS had a say about murder.

“He’ll protect a woman’s freedom of choice, because government should have no say in whether or when a woman embraces the sacred responsibility of parenthood"

So, Michelle, you and Barry Hussein believe it is okay for a woman then to reject that "sacred" responsibility by KILLING the baby?

How disgusting...how sickening.

Wonderful, just marvelous. Then why can't the father exercise his "freedom of choice" by insisting on his equal right to deposit his baby in a medical waste dumpster? Should the government have a say in "whether or when" a MAN embraces the sacred responsibility of parenthood?

News flash: parental responsibility begins when the baby begins. And choice? As my old neighbor in DC used to say, "Yeah, I definitely believe in choice. Choose before you scrooze."

The youngest son of the next Vice-President of the United States is “Trig” and comes from the Norwegian word meaning “truth” or “brave victory.”

A strong name, not a stylish one. I am even more impressed.

When their daughters get old enough to understand what their parents say I wonder how they will feel about that they were “lucky” not to have been aborted and that because they are children they are a punishment for their parents.

Kinda reminds one of the "fertility cults" that included sexual rituals and baby sacrifice, eh?

Molech and his friends seem to still be around.

“Sacred” parenthood?

No, Michelle, life is sacred, not parenthood.

What an idiot.

The logic of what the left has been saying lately totally escapes me, even people who agree with them have to be wondering where they come up with this nonsense.

What other "sacred" things do they think we should have the option to kill? ALL LIFE is sacred, yet by their logic, nothing sacred is protected.

It’s been my experience that the only women who are staunchly pro-abortion are those who have had one (or more). Not necessarily so for men.

Not so for me, when I was younger I was pro-choice (neutral) until I had a child wow....that changed everything.

I am the youngest of 6 children, and the 5th child ( 6 years older than me ) had Down’s Syndrome. My parents, like Ms. Palin, viewed Mathew as a gift from God, rather than a punishment.

That is one of the greatest life lessons for me, that life is precious, no matter what form it takes. Mathew passed away at age 24, but he taught me that each person is precious in God’s eye.

I have been luke-warm in my support of McCain ( I’d hold my nose and vote for him ), but his selection of Palin as VP makes my vote much easier.

McCain ‘08 - Palin ‘12

Precisely, Palin tells me that he is genuinely committed to the pro-life cause. Romney would have told me that he was looking for a big name with deep pockets.

Abortion is the sacrament of the liberal/feminist religion.

Restricting abortion is about stopping murder, not forcing motherhood.

I'm sure everyone has noticed how the pro aborts talk about having their reproductive rights infringed on......as if anyone is telling them they cannot reproduce.

Also similar to the 'no person is illegal' semantical bullshit of the La Raza gang.
