Palin for VP: Does she make the grade?
ExurbanLeague.com ^ | August 29, 2008 | Exurban Jon

We posted an extensive VP analysis back in February and updated the list in May. From a very strong Top Ten, Sarah Palin was #6 on the first list and #8 on the second.

The contenders were ranked via six important characteristics:

  1. Is she presidential?
  2. Will the Republican base see her as a party standard-bearer?
  3. Does she provide ideological balance to the ticket?
  4. Does she offer a geographic advantage?
  5. Does she bring a different set of experiences?
  6. Will she make it a more diverse ticket?

So, how does Palin stack up?

Governor of the ONLY state that, for all intents and purposes, borders Russia.

Negotiates with Canadian officials.

etc. etc.

I assume the item about killing a drifter outside of Brainerd was thrown in exempli gratia. Tim Pawlenty seems too nice a guy to do anything like that.

Alaska is the only state which borders two foreign countries...although that would change if Quebec ever secedes from Canada (in which case it would also be true of New York and Maine).

Ha! Yes, that was just a joke... unless they based the movie Fargo on his life or something.

From what we know of Palin, I think the vast majority of Republicans would be thrilled with this woman representing the Republican brand for decades to come.

Count me in on this one!

I looked at Sarah Palin’s background, and then heard her speak yesterday. She was trained as a journalist. Teddy Roosevelt was trained as a journalist. She hunts and fishes. TR hunted and fished. She was a muckraker and reformer. TR was a muckraker and reformer. The only thing she didn’t do is charge up San Juan Hill.

After hearing her talk, I could see her biting Putin’s head off and handing it to him.

I think she’s Teddy Roosevelt and margaret Thatcher rolled up into one.

A criticism is that she (like Obama) has no foreign policy experience. A dem hack was ranting about this on Larry Kudlow’s (CNBC) show last night.

Kudlow reiterated Obama, at the top of the ticket did not have experience. He also told the hack that Palan’s next-door neighbor was Russia, not Missouri or Ohio. I thought that was a neat comment.

Another hack said that Palan had only presided over one budget as governor. Kudlow said that it was one more than Obama had presided over.

If we can unleash the resources in Alaska our soviet and rad islamic foes can pack up and go back to their hovels.

“The only thing she didn’t do is charge up San Juan Hill.”
I'd like to see her charge up Capital Hill to be President of the Senate, though.

“After hearing her talk, I could see her biting Putin’s head off and handing it to him.”
Yep, especially since the Russians have been crossing into Alaskan airspace. No international experience? You think she knows what an F-15 is? Yep.

“I think she’s Teddy Roosevelt and margaret Thatcher rolled up into one.”
Brilliant!

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. Yes.
4. Yes.
5. Yes.
6. Yes.

Without her, it’s just another RINO vanilla ticket against the black messiah. John done good. Now, I hope she’s drafted to lead the ticket - she’s got more experience than the magic negro.

McCain and Palin could visit San Juan, New Mexico, and have her run up a hill...

There is a genealogy of Sarah Palin online (linked to the Wikipedia biography). It traces her ancestry back to colonial New England--it'd be cool if someone could find an ancestor she shared with Teddy Roosevelt. She had a couple of ancestors who came over on the Mayflower.

She is American, She is a Christian, She likes low taxes, She don’t like wasteful spending!!

She is well qualified. Just being American in this case makes her well qualified!! Seeing as to how the presidental candidate of the other party cannot identify himself legally as American but maybe Indonesian.

I’m sorry, I missed the article from the lame stream media questioning Obama’s credentials and experience for being President.

Could someone point that out for me?

It's not out of the question. They based "Love Story" on Al Gore and his wife.
