"Gustav, though downgraded to a category 3 as of early this morning, is still expected to hit Gulf Coast shores late Monday or early Tuesday...and may bring with it even more flooding than Katrina as it is anticipated to regain strenth before it hits. Mandatory evacuations are occurring today in several areas, and preparations are occurring from Louisiana all the way to Florida."

Thanks for the link. Thats a GREAT website! I happened to mention to several people at church this morning that we should soon start thinking about taking donations for those down south and I’ve already started to think about what clothes I have to donate.
You’re welcome! I’m on a prayer warrior list at my church, and someone attached that when asking for prayers for those in the path of Gustav. Thought it was a great site too and wanted to share it with my FReeper FRiends! :-)
our church had special prayer for those in the path of the hurricane today .....
What gets me curious, in most previous hurricane events that make US landfalls, there allways was some degree of “hook” to the north and east, in it’s path, ans was reflected, in the models.
But now, they are using nwer prediction techniques and sensor data to make their predictions on...and it shows that after getting into the gulf proper, there appears to be no deviation in Gustavs path, but it is supposedly going straight at the coast to the west of N.O La...
It doesn’t seem to fit actual past data, much less most previous models.
