TAMPA - It turns out a construction site portable toilet wasn't the best place to hide from two men who think you tried to break into their truck. Those portable toilets can be so easy to tip over when you're inside with highly messy results.
That's what the Tampa Police Department said happened to Lorenzo Earl Knight, 22, on Saturday afternoon near International Mall.
Police said Knight broke into a truck in the mall parking lot, taking a $500 digital camera and the owner's manual. He had just jimmied the door of a second when its owner spotted him, the police report said.
Knight took off, leaving behind a shoe and the screwdriver he used to break into the trucks, police said.
The owner of the second truck and a friend chased Knight who tried hiding in a portable toilet at a construction site, police said. The owner and friend found Knight and tipped over the toilet to keep him there until police arrived.
Knight was covered with its contents, police said.
He was arrested on two counts of burglary of a vehicle and one charge of grand theft.
Knight, who did not have a permanent address, was released from the Orient Road Jail after posting $6,000 bond.
Here's a story to put a smile on your face. Enjoy!
Ping!
Crime doesn’t pay ping!
Gee, I wonder if he’s really brown, or does that color come from . . .?
Justice was served!
He’s in a world of $hit!
sh&t happens
Is Mr. Knight an illegal alien? He looks to African or to be more blunt....un-blended.
Sadly, I doubt it.
After reading the comments it looks like this fine smelling young man has already amassed fourteen convictions in his young years.
As a poster over there opined, maybe they should have chained the porta-potty shut and left him locked inside until the workers found him on Tuesday.
I bet he was pi$$ed, too!
Only so if you tell me he was a white dude before the pot-o-gold was tipped!
Yo man!
Why don't da honeys wanna be kissin' me no mo'?
Oh well, maybe he’s articulate.

Now there is a worthy thought.
Yeah, it may sound harsh but people who break into cars deserve nothing less. Often, they do more damage to the car than the value of what they stole.
My brother went and bought the dirt-cheapest stereo/CD player he could find for his car. I think he spent $80 or $90 on it. He didn't want something fancy that would attract thieves. Didn't work. Somebody still smashed his window and then completely destroyed his dashboard just to get a POS stereo. $1500+ in damage for a stereo that was probably pawned for just enough to buy a rock of crack.
Very funny, but the owner of the truck wasn’t very smart. I just would have let the punk go out of fear he might be packin’ heat.
Yup, most of the time the deductable on the insurance makes it not even worth dealing with the insurance too.
I ran a dealership that was out in the country. At night we left the doors unlocked. For 100 I could get a CD player installed. A side window cost 250.
