All true, though finding out how artificially (some may say criminally) high that bar was explosively FUBAR.

I'm not concerned about Rossi. We know who he is, we know what he will do for this state, and when the citizens of this state see how much better off we are after his 1st term, his endorsement will mean a great deal to a conservative candidate.

If he has to distance himself from Bush & McCain to get his office back, he's doing no worse than 1/2 or more FReepers.

As far as I'm concerned, if he handed out zig zags with his picture on it while wearing cinderella slippers and a tutu while doing the waltz with Rudy Guliani at Hempfest, I don't care as long as he wins King County, gets that witch out of the capitol, reduces the budget to pre Gargoyle figures, then bans both Hempfest and Rudy.

He can keep the slippers and tutu, to be worn by any congress critter proposing a tax raising bill while trying to sell it to the public on TV.

My new county - Skagit - has 2 R reps, an R senator, Elk & deer herds that roam through my yard, a 70 mph speed limit, no carpool lanes, and much lower taxes.

Not to mention the Salish Sea 20 minutes away, and wilderness practically within walking distance.

I'm not going anywhere just yet.

Cut Rudy a break. I saw New York both before and after Giuliani, and it was like the difference between night and day. Rudy would make a fine governor of New York, Attorney General, or boss of Homeland Security.

I know he cut crime in New York, and I respect that immensely but you still couldn't pay me to go there, and personally I don't care for him for a number of other reasons, none of which has to do with his dancing.

However, my comments were meant to be lighthearted - I thought it was obvious.

There is a major difference though. If you look at the county-by-county election maps, the Northeast is much more solid blue than the West Coast. MA and RI were all blue. CT and VT had one “Red” county each. OTOH, there are a lot of “Red” counties in the interior parts of CA, OR, and WA. OR, in fact, only has about five counties that go blue, so it is always the closest. The problem is that in all three of those states, the “Blue” counties are much more populated than the “Red” counties. Even the suburbs tend to be lib-leaning or at least more moderate than the rural areas. That helps the Dems win every time. It’s a lot like the national elections. Dems have a lot of strength in the bigger states (NY, NJ, CA, IL, and pretty much also in PA and MI). The only surefire big state for the GOP is TX and for the most part, FL. VA, NC, and GA are also pretty large states that the GOP usually gets, though their strength has weakened in VA and NC. This is the problem with large, very staunchly lib states like NY and CA. It doesn’t take too many people from those states to move into some other states where elections are close and tip the elections to the Dems. First, people from NY (and MA) helped change staunchly Republican VT into a lib haven. People from MA also changed NH amd ME. Then, people from CA first changed OR and WA and are now starting to change NV, CO and MT. AZ may be next. Then not to mention how my home city of Houston was altered by people from NOLA, but that’s another matter (mostly the fault of Mayor White). But it’s a free country. You can’t restrict U.S. citizens moving from state to another nor can you require them to change their political beliefs, especially when they’re people with money.

The Dems in Florida would love to get 100% voting by mail made the law here. We have seen lots of corruption with absentee ballots—ballots requested for people in nursing homes being completed by Dem operatives. Voting by mail would simply enable massive corruption through Dem operatives within the US Postal Service.

But in Washington state, McCain will share the ballot this fall with Republicans trying to distance themselves from the national party and doing little to link arms with the McCain campaign.

They might want to re-think that decision. McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as Veep has energized this party overnight, and if the Wash. State folks can't see that, then they're blind, as well as stupid, and they don't deserve to be in any office.

*snort* We’re planning the same thing! We’re gonna get out of MA as soon as we can, and head back to our home state of MS! I dropped our youngest off at college there two weeks ago. Just heard from him, and he and the few boys left in their dorm are having a Hurricane Party in the lobby. Food Service brought them sandwiches and chips, and the guys each have their own snacks, sodas and bottled water. Someone is setting up a Wii, and they’re fixing to play Super Smash Brothers. They even got an extra day off tomorrow, so he’s playing today, and will use tomorrow for homework. ;o)

I believe Rossi will be getting "sharper" as the campaign goes on. But remember Hillary when Lazio handed her a piece of paper? I work with political liberals daily and they are already saying that "for his own good" Rossi should be "positive" like last time. In their opinion he is now being too mean. Dino must be careful or Chrissy DeFraudoire, the media accomplices, and Washington sheeple of the left will all be pulling out the injured and assaulted woman platform. Bet on it.

I know about California and Oregon, but I didn’t realize that enough of the infectious puss had drifted north to send Washington down the toilet, too. Oh well.
