Good is right.

Plus it does not excuse the lefties and their wacko theories about Palin’s youngest being her daughters.

And I thought today might be a boring news day.

I guess the Palin’s family doesn’t get the same privacy considerations from the drive by media as does Chelsea. I wonder, what’s different?

I’m having a tall, cool glass of “who cares?” At the very least, it’ll shut the flying monkeys down.

This is BAD news. At this point, the Palins are a distraction, and I fear this will be what turns the campaign in Obama’s direction permanently.

The left is going to be on this like stink on sh*t.

Why would McCain pick her, and why would she accept this nod if this is the case?

I would not want to put my child through all of the media attention. It cannot be a private family matter when she is running for VP.

My prayers go to the daughter and to the unborn baby.

This is exactly how a Conservative would handle this: love and support.

I see the handwringers are already out in force on other threads.

So, Palin isn't going to be the cute, young babe that liberals are up in arms over. By the time they are sworn in (if we're lucky), she's going to be dignified, accomplished grandmother who happens to still look fit. I can live with that, although I know what Obama would say about his own daughters being "punished for a mistake".

Other than the fact that being a grandmother sounds more wise and experienced, this doesn't change the main facts. Four presidents generally ranked in the top fifteen by historians have had experience comparable to Governor Palin’s prior to assuming office: Franklin Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Grover Cleveland.

Sarah Palin spent four years as a City Council Member for Wasilla, Alaska, six years as Mayor of Wasilla, and two years as Governor of Alaska.

FDR spent just over two years in the New York State Senate, eight years as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and four years as Governor of New York.

Theodore Roosevelt spent some time in the New York State Assembly(?), two years as Governor of New York, two years as Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and less than one year as Vice President of the United States.

Woodrow Wilson spent eight years as President of Princeton University and two years as Governor of New Jersey.

Grover Cleveland spent two years as Sheriff of Erie County, two years as Mayor of Buffalo, and two years as Governor of New York.

Overall, I’d say that Palin’s background is comparable with that of several presidents considered highly successful, even considering that her state has a smaller population than the other two states on the list.

While Obama has been running for office for as long as Palin has been running a state, I find it hard to consider the two tasks as comparable preparation.

One final note: I will be posting this multiple times because I think it is important to get the word out that that her experience is in keeping with previous presidents. I apologize to those who are annoyed by seeing it too often.

The young woman is 5 months along. And Al .Reuters says the release is made "to rebut rumors". Funny thing, even though I don't think the release was a trap, Reuters set and fell into their own trap. If I, as an average American, saw a headline like this, I would want to know "what rumors?" Then, I would be appalled at the garbage the left is spewing. Then I would be even more inclined to vote for McCain Palin

Yes, it’s a distraction, which isn’t good.

But it’s real life too, and depending how it plays out, could even add to Sarah’s aura.

“Obama’s mother was an unwed teenager.”

This bears repeating. From a strategic standpoint, this is a vexing problem for Democrats. Once again, anything they throw at Palin bounces right back at them.

I'm delighted the daughter did not abort. Pity, she and the father did not use better judgment before conception.

Let's not forget what Obama would've done:

At a March 29 townhall meeting in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Obama excoriated abstinence-only education with harsh language. "Look, I got two daughters — nine years old and six years old," he said. "I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby. I don't want them punished with an STD at age 16, so it doesn't make sense to not give them information."

This poor girl - not only is she having to deal with the fact that she probably did things out of order, she is having to deal with it in front of the entire US.

This shows the left that not only can you be prolife but how to handle situations when those near and dear are confronted with the issues.

They didn’t try to hide it from the citizens and leave their daughter at home. They loved her and will help her through this tough period. She is up on stage.

I think in the end this is one of the best examples of love for your family and for the unborn anyone could give.

We need to start screaming from the roof tops - lay off of her family now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The left won’t be a problem here, it’s some neanderthals on the right that could present a problem.

Get ready for those who point their fingers in judgement, including those who wanted someone else for VP. Some of the people who wanted someone else for VP have been less than honorable.

I don’t like the title. I’ve already seen it used on other sites as “Palin throws daughter under bus to dispell rumors”.
