It's called fact checking. Look up due diligence and see how it pertains to libel. Pictures I got from some guy "looked authentic" therefore we "felt" fine about publishing.

Thank you for the reply. I’ve now been able to identify some of the pictures you show from other places, but can’t determine who had what, first, and frankly, no one seems to be able to actually claim this girl is Sarah.
As I now look at your own blog, you’ve now corrected yourself with an update (Update 4) saying the girl isn’t Sarah, but her “soon-to-be sister-in-law.”

Looking at the website the photos aren’t even of bristol they are of her boyfriends sister. Which makes this posting libelous as well as in bad taste. Though in all fairness the poster has no added an update indicating that he too is starting to realize that the photos are not of bristol but instead of her prospective sister in law.
The MSM laid off the Palin Pregnancy story until there was a press release. But, yes the campaign had little choice since the issue would have been very obvious very soon.
Should the media ignored the press release and not ran with the story?

Don’t give into their lies and slander. If you research any of their claims there is usually little or nothing of substance to it. The website you linked to is fiercely partisan and has had it in for Sarah Palin and social conservatives from the beginning.

I don’t believe so. One of their sons is in a huge ethics scandal and is in trouble with the law and that is hardly being reported at all. Plus I don’t really think that it would be reported if Biden had young kids and one of his daughters got pregnant. Remember how much they covered for Clinton and he was the candidate.
