The pregnancy of Palin's daughter is gonna hurt McCain ticket..... simply because a teen pregnancy goes against everything the Republican Party stands for.
And I love Sarah Palin, and identify with her family life because it mirrors things which happened to my family.
But now I read in the local newspaper today (Tuesday) that Sarah's husband Todd recently had a DUI.
Not sure if that's true, but it's just one more thing that will ruin her reputation as a model citizen....
And after all, these Presidential campaigns are as much about atmospherics as they are about actual accomplishments.
Why the hell was Todd Palin drinking and driving, (if that is true).
By time someone has five kids, is pushing 50, and is a responsible adult, they know enough to not get behind the wheel if they've had too many.
I don't mind saying I'm disgusted.
Um, his DUI was in 1986.
The charge is from 20 years ago. MSM diggng up very old news. He was 22 years old. He was not a father of five at the time. You put it out there now for more to read MSM grabage.
I'm disgusted that someone too stupid and lazy to do basic research for themselves dares to post on FR.
“The pregnancy of Palin’s daughter is gonna hurt McCain ticket..... simply because a teen pregnancy goes against everything the Republican Party stands for.”
Exactly. No one wants to say too mauch about it. Obama scares people ... As fod Dad being DUI, well, what could would think highly of themself when they’re “Mr. Mom” with a single preggie daughter and Mom’s not around and too busy? Just because people aren’t talking about it doesn’t mean they aren’t thinking about it ... .
Disagree...I really, really, disagree with your post.
For one Tod was 22 at the time of the DUI. You never did anything stupid in your 20s????
For another, you can’t be perfect, no matter how much you try. The fact taht Sarah’s daughter got pregnet at age 17 isn’t really Sarah’s fault, no matter how much you want to blaim her. And it certainly isn’t the fault of the Republican Party. And it certainly doesn’t go against everything we stand for. Her daughter is doing the right thing in marrying the boy (as is he in marrying her) and having the child instead of killing the baby (which the Dems would advocate).
Ah, that DUI was when he was 22. Are you purposely spreading misinformation? (That is, part of the perpetual Romney campaign?)
You idiot!! That DUI was 24 years ago!! If you don’t know what you are talking about don’t say anything.
Yes, because politicians live perfect lives. What kind of idiocy is this? LIFE happens, get a helmet and get over it already.
If anything it makes her and her family more human.
It must be hard to sit behind a computer screen and not have enough gumption to look for the facts. How do you do it?
Your post is so full of garbage it appears to be lifted out of DU.
Go back to DU where you belong. Read in the paper.....DUI....When? 1986. I wish many more of us were as perfect as you and your perfect family.......maybe you can write a book!
The DUI was in 1986 - 22 years ago!
And he’s not pushing 50, he’s 43!
But I do agree about the pregnancy and its affect on the campaign (I’m in the .000000001% of conservatives who feels this way, BTW).
While I’m certainly thrilled that Bristol chose not to abort her child, it is amazing that the entire religious right is simply celebrating this pregnancy, without even mentioning that the girl and her mate DID violate God’s laws regarding fornication.
True, we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. But for the Palins to issue a statement as to how proud they are of the daughter, without even mentioning that her actions go against her Christian faith, leaves the door wide open for OTHERS throughout the world to act in a similar manner. Believe it or not, many “Christians” do NOT know that fornication is wrong, and for these people, who are now in the public purview, to not even make mention of this fact sets a poor example for teens everywhere!
Further, the Palins are very accepting of what happened and seem well able, emotionally and financially, to accept this arrangement into their family. Good for them. But what about the millions of teens who do NOT have supportive families and economic conditions conducive to raising a child? They will be in for a real shock if they find themselves in similar circumstances.
From all the sources I can find - the DUI was in 1986...22 years ago. If that is recent...
Not excusing any DUI but the only one we've heard of for Todd Palin was in 1986, before they were even married, and 4 years before they had their first child. I don't know what you saw but it may be the reporter (so-called) was trying to make it seem recent, because these MSM and Demagogue scumbags are desperately trying to force Governor Palin off the ticket or at least to so damage her that the ticket is weakened. They are SCUM.
>>Why the hell was Todd Palin drinking and driving, (if that is true).<<
Because he was 22 at the time and living in Alaska. And it was before they were married. :)
>>Not sure if that’s true, but it’s just one more thing that will ruin her reputation as a model citizen....<<
When was the last time we elected a “model citizen”?
But, more importantly, these trivialities make her a “REAL PERSON” and actually, over time, will make the MSM appear MEAN even to those who don’t support her. It is already happening, actually.
We are watching history in the making here. I firmly think that, one by one, these things will become positives. It reminds me of when I was in a march in Seattle for the first Gulf War, and some “hippies” were giving us the “V” peace sign. I was in the front and held high the same “V” and shouted VICTORY! The whole crowd started saying and doing it and the “hippies” sheepishly put their hands down.
Figuratevly speaking, I expect all of these silly allegations to go the same way.
Meanwhile, the one that “could be” serious, will also be exposed as a mere witch hunt:

This is gonna be great!
