Janet Folger: McCain's home run (Sarah Palin pick)
World Net Daily ^ | September 2, 2008 | Janet L. Folger

John McCain hit it out of the park.

"Brilliant!" "Electrifying!" "Energizing!" – words used to describe Sen. John McCain's selection of Gov. Sarah Palin as a running mate.

So dazzling, so groundbreaking was his choice on the day following the Democratic National Convention, that no one even remembered the speech that other guy gave in that stadium.

What Sarah Palin did is something no one else quite could. She energized the pro-life base of the Republican Party while reaching out to the disgruntled Hillary supporters.

Let me give you 15 reasons why Palin will lead to McCain's victory in November:

1. She is solidly pro-life. When running for office, Palin called herself as "pro-life as any candidate can be." But what about the tough cases? She's not only right on paper; she's put her faith to action. In April of this year, Palin gave birth to a child with Down syndrome and feels blessed that God chose her to care for this special baby.

2. She is pro-marriage. Palin opposes redefining marriage. She supported the Alaska Constitutional Amendment to protect marriage as the union of one man and one woman, which passed in 1998 by nearly 70 percent.

3. She is pro-God. While a lot of people talk about God and claim Christianity, we judge a tree by its fruit. And Sarah has it. We can see it all the way back to high school where she headed the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and led the team in prayer before games.

A good person with solid GOP ideological qualifications, but a terrible VP choice, one of the least qualified candidates in history. McCain blew the election with this decision.

“While Obama surrounds himself with unrepentant terrorists, corrupt campaign donors and plagiarizing Washington insiders, McCain has asked for the advice of someone who is above the fray and who’s right on issues across the board. Palin “get’s it” and can communicate it well.

It’s been said that the best indication of who someone will select for the courts is who they select as their running mate. If that is so, the selection of Sarah Palin is more than “Brilliant!” “Electrifying!” and “Energizing!” The selection of Sarah Palin will lead to words like: “Rejuvenating!” “Victory!” and “Landslide!”

Rush is on a roll today on the same theme.

She’s a great choice and after 4 years serving as VP she will be ready to run for President.

Xerox doesn’t deserve to be on the same stage with this great woman. The consummate Washington insider vs an outside-the-beltway reformer.

one of the least qualified candidates in history

Yet the only one on either ticket with executive experience, and she's significantly more experienced than the #1 Dem guy!!

So your point would be...?

"A good person with solid GOP ideological qualifications, but a terrible VP choice, one of the least qualified candidates in history. McCain blew the election with this decision."

Huh?! She's been a company owner, commissioner of a state agency, city council member, mayor, and now governor of a state. Senator Obama (who, btw, is running for president, not vice president)was a part-time state senator, "community organizer", law school lecturer and now U.S. Senator (serving 143 days before he felt ready for the White House). She has about the same amount of experience as Presidents Grover Cleveland, Woodrow Wilson, Theodore & Franklin Roosevelt and MORE experienced than President Abraham Lincoln (one two-year term in congress).

I want to tell you what the Palin pick has done for me. I have been a long term Freeper that has been active in politics. I have not been very active on FR for many years because of the “luke warm” Republican Party. I have not logged onto FR in a while.

When McCain picked Palin I was reinvigorated again and hopeful for the conservative cause. What McCain has done is wakened the sleeping giant, the “conservative base.” This is the Left’s worst nightmare. They know that history shows that when conservatives stay home or are not excited about a Presidential candidate, Democrats win.

Now since the media and the Dems have gone after Palin personally, they have not just awakened me but have made me mad. I want to now campaign for McCain. I would never have imagined this in 100 years a few months ago.

The media and Obama’s smear machine have awakened the sleeping giant (the conservative base) and Republicans win elections when this happens.

Keep it up media because you are giving the conservative base a reason to get active these next 60 days which are the most important!

Explain yourself ... with facts, if you can. Do not mouth DNC talking points and your "FEELINGS".

Oh come on....you can't make a statement like this, then not back it up. Are you just some bombthrowing fool who's mad because "your guy" didn't get in, or are you a DU plant?

Just exactly what makes her “least qualified” compared to Obama & Biden?

So far all I see is the press ripping her to shreds. Has McCain not been able gauge the viciousness of the corrupt mainstream press? Unfortunately, the attacks appear, so far, very effective because nobody (other than covervative bloggers) knows anything about Governor Sarah Palin. McCain/Palin better hurry up and define her and stop letting the elitist liberal press define do it or they are gonna lose.

I agree fully. A terrible choice because of inexperience. It surprises me at how many are drinking the kool aid and not thinking rationally. If the democrats had nominated a VP with similar experience we would be laughing hysterically.

What may be worse is that McCain has thrown away his best weapon against Obama by essentially saying experience doesn't matter.
