Newsbusters ^ | September 2, 2008 | Noel Sheppard

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich did what conservatives have been waiting for someone to do since Sarah Palin was announced as John McCain's running mate: take on someone in the media claiming that she lacks the qualifications to be vice president.

Such marvelously occurred Tuesday evening on the convention floor in St. Paul when MSNBC's Ron Allen said to the former Speaker, "But to be fair, her resume is not something we're familiar seeing with presidential candidates."

This didn't sit well with Gingrich who strongly replied

I watched that interview. Newt drew and quartered that sap. About time someone threw that "stuff" back in their faces. The best part was when Newt challenged him to name one thing that Obama has accomplished. "Ummmmmmm.......back to you Keith"
It was truly a beautiful thing.

Susan Estrich just slammed the Left for their treatment of Sarah Palin.

Sexist ... I don't agree with her on the issues but she has the right to have her opinions respected. Vicious ....

Estrich had some work done ... in Yiddish we would say, "Ah rois givoffene gelt". (A total waste of money).

OK, I’m not quite as mad about his embrace of the global warming scam.

I only hope what you’re saying is true.

For every Newt Gingrich (or Zell Miller back in ‘04) that stands ups to the MSM lies, there are dozens more who issue the standard bland “C’mon, you know that’s not true” line.

I’ve said it for years (on FR and while involved in Mn politics) that it’s high-frickin’ time that we started to get combative with the MSM. I think it’d go a long way to curbing their on-air BS.

Anybody that would vote for B Obama would sign a blank check.

Why not? There is no money in that account.

The strange beauty of this is it should have been done all along. Ever since 06, the media should have been contained. McCain better have an effective strategy for the signs were there for a long time with Bush.

That was absolutely priceless. That is what we need to do to the biased media everytime a conservative figure is interviewed from now on out. Call them on all of their distortions and shove the truth down their throats.

“It’s stronger than Barack Obama’s. I don’t know why you guys walk around saying this baloney. She has a stronger resume than Obama. She’s been a real mayor, he hasn’t. She has been a real governor, he hasn’t. She’s been in charge of the Alaskan National Guard, he hasn’t. She was a whistleblower who defeated an incumbent mayor. He has never once shown that kind of courage. She’s a whistleblower who turned in the chairman of her own party and got him fined $12,000. I’ve never seen Obama do one thing like that. She took on the incumbent governor of her own party and beat him, and then she beat a former Democratic governor in the general election. I don’t know of a single thing Obama’s done except talk and write.”

nice.

One for Mr Newt. He still has a long way to go and a lot of mea culpas to issue but other than the late William F Buckley nobody in my memory could put a curve ball quiver in the knees of a msm hack like Newt

At the end of the clip, Keith O stated that Newt “left some openings there”.
Anyone know what kind of lies he came back with?
