There is no way he will allow Sarah Palin to twist in the wind. He sees her as a comrade.Agreed. Check out this video of McCain being greeted (in Mpls. I presume). I thought it telling - the amount of time he gave to Bristol and her beau Levi. Didn't look to me like a man about to throw them under the bus.

While I don't agree with Peggy that the Palin nomination is a "Hail Mary" pass, I do agree with you (and Peggy:
"She could become a transformative political presence. So they are going to have to kill her, and kill her quick.") that the Dems attack certainly is one. They are scared.
As to the rhetorical question, "Can she take it?", I'm reminded of Governor Palin's joke, "What's the difference between a pit bull and a hockey mom?" Punchline: Lipstick.
I have the feeling that his lady will prove to be more than tough enough. I agree with Rush's comment that this attack on Governor Palin could backfire on the libs even more than the debacle at the Wellstone funeral did.
