Palin strikes back at critics

A WEEK ago nobody had ever heard of her.

Today she is the most talked-about woman in the world. And with good reason.

Sarah Palin's sensational performance at the Republican Party Convention may turn out to be the tipping point of this rollercoaster American election.

Obama fans hoping she would fluff her big night were in for a nasty shock.

This speech has turned the election upside down. It was simply stunning.

Democrats and their Lefty media backers had been sneering that she was a small town nobody, a hick from the Alaskan sticks put into a job way beyond an inexperienced woman.

Believe me, you will not be hearing that again.

Palin turned out to be an electrifying mix of intelligence, passion, energy, optimism and plain speaking.

Full of self-assurance and aggression, she popped Barack's balloon big-time.

From the moment she walked on stage in this cavernous bear pit, bandbox smart in cream jacket, trim black skirt and black heels, she proved that John McCain knew exactly what he was doing when he picked her as running mate.

Hair piled into a slight beehive – more Sarah White House than Amy Winehouse – she blinked and smiled behind her geeky spectacles as the vast crowd went ballistic.

For an unpopular party divided over Iraq and struggling to compete with Obama's Messianic glamour, the choice of Palin looks absolutely inspired.

Main Street America will have loved her performance.

And it was seen by 30million voters – the greatest number ever to watch a candidate for the much-derided VP post.

Now that’s a heck of an article. It takes a Brit to see things the way we saw them!

“a hick from the Alaskan sticks”

“Hicks” built this great country and nobody ever better forget it.

Governor Palin is the Democrat’s worst nightmare. And by attacking her family, Senator Obama has just committed political Saracide!

It was a home run. I’d hate to be a Dem this morning...well that goes without saying, really.

“Obama Fans” A mile wide and an inch deep. When the Tampa Bucs were so bad we would wear BAGS over our heads when we went to the game. Maybe Obama fans will start showing up with HEAD BAGS>

I especially loved how cutting she was in her remarks about Dick Durbin. :-)

I doubt that a man could get away with not just some of the things she said, but the WAY she said them. I was howling laughing at how she seemed to be relishing the words as she was putting them down.

Take a stroll over to "demorat underground". The wailing and gnashing of teeth is in full swing this AM. Delusions seem to overwhelm a lot of their mindless rants, but overall the palpable sense of doom they're experiencing is pretty darn enjoyable!

I was reading some of their idiotic posts. It’s wonderful entertainment, however it also reminds us that we have a lot of work to do given the vitriol they spew.

I keep hearing about how she’s not afraid of anything. Last night was a sneak peek.

“Hicks” built this great country and nobody ever better forget it.

That is what the styrofoam pedestal elites are missing.

Sarah Palin is a regular guy. The Founding Fathers wanted a government where people would serve a few years and then go back home. Not life-long Representatives and Senators.

Sarah Palin made contact with many Americans on various issues last night. Again, she showed herself to be a regular guy.

And, she came up in a typical, regular way -- area university rather than an elite Ivy League school, a professional major that was NOT pre-law, an area job as a sportscaster, a member of the local PTA, etc.

She personifies the vision of the type of leaders the Founding Fathers intended. And that mortifies the lefties, the Dems, the elites, and the MSM.

Favorite line from Sarah (among many last night) was her comment about Obama: “After he gets done healing the planet and parting the waters....” Great, Great line.....

I know it’s an old movie now but everyone should go rent a copy of ‘The Patriot’ and really look at the men who won independence for us all.

No fancy uniforms or crack formal training.
No elegant field tents with standardized rations.

No polished rifles with gleaming brass ornamentation...just hicks.

Illiterate, simple, common, poor hicks wearing their farm boots, carrying their “supper muskets” and flags made by their wives out of quilt-bag scraps.

*That* is the heart, soul and blood of America.

I find it terrifying.
Those are violent, extremely disturbed and mentally unbalanced people.

Consider that the odds are nearly 50/50 that the person standing next to you in a checkout line is one of them.

I hope and pray that Nov. 5th finds McCain the victor...yet I dread the aftermath of an Obama loss.

There will be violence.

[and I ~don’t~ live in a CCW state]

So true. I recall the Carter years as the era of the Ugly American. And I recall how, during Reagan's first term, the era of Proud American returned.

Some have kept the “proud American” era tucked safely away in our hearts and cherished it lovingly.

It’s time to bring it back out and boldly show it off.

[a tiny, hesitant part of me dares to hope that “It’s morning in America” again]
