I would like to thank the US media for doing such a grand job this last week of lowering expectations by portraying Governor Palin - whoops, I mean Hick-Burg Mayor Palin - as a hillbilly know-nothing permapregnant ditz, half of whose 27 kids are the spawn of a stump-toothed uncle who hasn't worked since he was an extra in Deliverance.

How's that narrative holding up, geniuses? Almost as good as your "devoted husband John Edwards" routine?

I trust even now Maureen Dowd is working on a hilarious new column mocking proposed names for the Governor's first grandchild. Perhaps Richard Cohen can just take the week off and they can rerun his insightful analysis comparing the Palin nomination to Caligula making his horse a consul. Whereas we sophisticates all know that if McCain were as smart as Obama he'd have nominated a dead horse to be his consul. No wait...

I watched Charlie Rose last night post speech. His round table of newsie experts was obviously impressed, even blown away by Sarah, most could not believe that people actually hate the media. Rose, the consummate elitist jerk, was incredulous. They hate us? HAHAHAHAHA

I watched The Speech on PBS last night (I don’t have cable). After the speech, Lehrer (yuck) went to Gwen Ifill on the floor to get her thoughts. Her facial features said it all - she looked like she’d been sucking lemons and she immediately used the phrase ‘belittling Obama’ in reference to Sarah’s comments. She’s the moderator for the VP debate so it’s going to be one heck of a night.

After GOV Palin’s speech, when coverage cut over to the CNN talking heads, Wolfie Blitzer looked like a stunned mullet.

how guys like Mort Kondracke talk to their lib buddies from the Obama campaign

I was particularly interested in Mort's reaction last night. He was the first panel guest asked about it, and his answer was pretty much one word "brilliant".

Saw Candy Crowley (think that's her name) from CNN. She said the speech did well on the floor, but she wondered if it wasn't a bit "too harsh" for the rest of America. That made me laugh.

Does anybody have any knowledge of how to put together a good slide video?

I tried with this little program I have. It looked ok on my computer but after loading it onto you tube it came out all blurry.

I left it up even if it doesn’t look as good as I’d like. If you want to check it out its called “The media attacked Sarah Palin - The media lost”
