Republican Convention Sees Violent Demonstrations (Anarchists and others who don't bathe)
The Wall Street Journal ^ | September 4, 2008 | T.W. Farnam

Local prosecutors brought felony charges against 21 people for protesting the Republican National Convention, and federal prosecutors announced that they have charged another man with possessing explosives he said were intended to bomb tunnels under the convention site.

Demonstrations this week have been the most violent at a national party convention in recent memory, with protesters smashing windows, slashing tires, throwing bags of urine and excrement and physically confronting Republican delegates in the streets.

Several journalists, including an Associated Press photographer and the radio host Amy Goodman, were also arrested, some charged with inciting a riot. The city attorney said the journalists were released pending further investigation.

The U.S. attorney for Michigan charged Matthew DePalma, of Flint, Mich., with possession of an unregistered firearm after he was arrested last week with a flammable jelly. Mr. DePalma said he planned to use it in the tunnels under the convention site to burn electrical cables and cause a power outage, according to a complaint unsealed Wednesday.

"I think it really exposes that we live in a police state," said a woman who gave her name as Loaf Owls, her age as 20 years old, and said she was a professional clown. "Someone at the march said yesterday that anarchists are protectors of the people, and that pretty much sums up why I'm here."

"We'll protest the grass being green," shouted Robert Wilson, 45, who said he is homeless. "I love protesting. My favorite cologne is pepper spray."

Who We Are/Points of Unity

The RNC Welcoming Committee is an anarchist/anti-authoritarian organizing body formed to prepare for the 2008 Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota. The RNC-WC, composed primarily of Twin Cities-based anarchists and anti-authoritarians, will function as an informational clearinghouse and organize a spokescouncil for RNC resistance. We will coordinate logistics (food, housing, transportation), and engage in education and outreach.

Without falling prey to the centralized, hierarchical tendencies that have dominated such convergences in the past, we hope that the RNC-WC will maintain a unified, anti-authoritarian presence at the 2008 RNC. Our numbers are huge, and it’s time that our actions reflected that.

Following are our points of unity. We invite all individuals and groups committed to these ideas to participate in the Welcoming Committee.

Those who work with the RNC Welcoming Committee must agree to:

1. A rejection of Capitalism, Imperialism, and the State;

2. Resist the commodification of our shared and living Earth;

3. Organize on the principles of decentralization, autonomy, sustainability, and mutual aid;

4. Work to end all relationships of domination and subjugation, including but not limited to those rooted in patriarchy, race, class, and homophobia;

5. Oppose the police and prison-industrial complex, and maintain solidarity with all targets of state repression;

6. Directly confront systems of oppression, and respect the need for a diversity of tactics.

Since they are seeing this type of violence, they should cancel the permits and arrest all who violate the law. Arrest them if they demonstrate and throw the book at them.

These demonstrators are totally opposed to other people’s freedoms. Little totalitarians.

Anarchists, my eye... Democrats! What typically happens when one political party thinks it can violently shut down an opposition party?

Let’s face it-these “protestors” have been paid by somebody to show up and act up. They look like they haven’t had a bath in a month and they probably don’t have a job either!
Then let’s talk about the fact that these same “protestors” can’t even identify the very people they are protesting against!

Scares me to death to think of that sort of mentality in power. I’ve shuddered so much my bones hurt.

There is hope - admitting one is clown is the first step to treatment....

Amy Goodman is a member of Democracy Now, an anti-war peace-nut group that promotes the “inside job—9/11” BS et al. She’s buds with cop-assaulter Cynthia McKinney. I hope she is prosecuted.

Orange! The color for the incarcerated. Perfect.

“4. Work to end all domination and subjugation...” So, I guess, people aren’t really required to subjugate themselves here by signing this agreement? Isn’t this slightly dominating?

An Obama money bundler tries to rush the stage -- and do what to Gov. Palin? -- and violent demonstrations outside rage.

The New Left Marxists/anarchists/terrorists are now bundled as the Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) and have been working for a generation.. they are now mere inches from their goal to "bring it all down, man." Replace it with "social justice."

In the 1960s and beyond they did not hesitate to use targeted bombings and killings. IMO they ain't about to do anything less to "bring it all down, man" with a win for their man in November.

Cynthia McKinney is an endorser of the World Can't Wait--Drive Out the Bush Regime movement. WCW is a front for the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP). See my earlier post on this thread for details. Other endorsers include Jane Fonda, Ward Churchill... AND the democrat chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, John Conyers Jr! (no joke)

Click on the WCW link below and scroll down. Conyers' endorsement appears right after Ward Churchill's.
