This is a surprise. Not really. The MSM has thrown so much mud at Gov. Palin and, by inference, McCain that people tuned in to see if they really do bite the heads off chickens and sacrifice goats.

I think Palin got people interested in this ticket. Exactly what I thought. I've not watched a political speech in years. I was curious enough about Palin to tune in and was not disappointed. She set the stage for McCain beautifully.....C

The New York Times has already declared that McCain’s speech was a dud!

I thought the speech was a missed opportunity. It could've been stronger on content and lighter on rah-rah. I was disappointed but I think he did what he needed to do to stay competitive exiting the convention.
Code Pink should be water-boarded. Kudos to McCain for handling the disruptors with humor.

The #1 thing that tells us that Obama has NOT sealed the deal.

What part of Texas? I’ve got a friend in Austin (which I thought was Rat infested) and he maintains there is NO way Obama will win.

I did both. I was AT the game last night and TiVo’d McCain’s speech. Watched it at 2am after I got home. I thought he did fine.

Hmmm....
Yet another meme put on its head.
“The football game will hurt ratings....blah blah blah....”
Turns out it was a great lead-in...... ;-)

Am I the only one eating crackers strolling next to the mausoleum today?Huh? Is this a third-world cultural ritual that I'm not aware of?

That suggests to me, since they are both on a Thursday night and only a week apart, that McCain is in the lead in this race.Don't put a lot of stock into it.
As a result of having watched Clinton in 1992, then coming to the realization that there was no point in listening to him because everything was a lie, I did not watch any of the rat submerged-hate fest.
But I did watch the republicans.
My wife, a blue dog, watched both.
The increased numbers for McCain are only the people he had anyway who would not watch a rat anything.

I don’t think anyone was expecting much from McCain, as he isn’t a great orator, but that last part was excellent. I don’t recall a response like that to Obama’s speech.

McCain/Palin are members of the “No guts no glory” crowd. Unlike the Obama litigators.

re#81 True. The curiosity factor carried over. Maybe too a lot of husbands wanted another look and Sarah and told their buddies what a hottie she was. ;^)

He moved undecideds and blue dogs last night, make no mistake about it.I saw the proof of that this morning. That's all McCain needed to close the deal.
SCORE!

“The videos were very moving of Cindy, Sarah, and John.”
I’ll say. I really haven’t heard much about Cindy McCain, and I was just stunned at what she has accomplished. The video brought tears to my eyes!

Wasn’t the Reagan-Carter race a virtual tie in the media polls on election day?
And wasn’t that revealed as a landslide within the first hour?
Are we seeing the same thing here?
Anybody got numbers on that?
