think for yourself
Actually i am.When Mccain said obama is too inexperienced and is a risky choice for president,i actually believed him. Then he goes ahead and picks palin who is even more inexperienced than obama ! What happened to all that talk of country first ?? He's 72, dying and even then he goes on to pick palin as his running mate knowing fully well that she isn't the right pick! I understand why he wouldn't pick bolton...But why would you go elect someone with hardly two yrs. executive experience and no foreign policy or national security experience?? Nor is she an expert on the economy. there were a lot more qualified republican governors he could have picked as his running mate. But no.He would go for this girl----- Oh! hillary's supporters are bitter!!And wait a minute i still don't have support of the social conservatives. So let me pick a women who also happens to be a conservative!
Those who have been repeatedly suggesting that i go take a look at her records....well.... here's a news flash for you guys...i did check her out and i am hardly impressed. The only thing i like abt. her is her willingness to tackle corruption and the fact that she reduced taxes. But then considering our state of economy, i won't be surprised if our taxes go up no matter who gets elected. Also she comes off as too stubborn------ now that can be a good thing or a bad thing(usually more bad than good)
The real reason many of you are supporting her is because she's a social conservative. It's not because of her executive experience or because alaska is close to russia or because she heads the alaskan air national guards.Lets get real here people--- you are gonna vote for her simply because she's a social concervative.
Well i don't care abt. social issues.Infact i am pro-choice and opposed to the teaching of intelligent design in public schools and don't believe earth is only 5000 yrs. old. Infact the only thing i have in common with social conservatives is i am opposed to gay rights and believe in harsher punishment for criminals incl. death penalty. The reason i vote for republicans is because they are strong on national security and foreign policy. I am prepared to overlook the fact that a person is a social conservative if he's strong on foreign polciy or national security or atleast have a good team to aid and advice him.that's why i voted for president bush and would still vote for him if he could run for office.
To be honest McCain wasn't my first choice. This guy was a liberal not long ago.He was once opposed to tax cuts, drilling oil and was opposed to torture. His involvement in the immigration reforms bill was another cause for concern. Now add palin to the list of concerns
So why should i vote for this ticket?McCain keeps saying he's the guy for change....But i don't want change.I want the status quo to continue.Sure we aren't doing well economically but that's hardly gonna change (atleast in the short term) no matter who gets elected.....economy will prolly get worse before it gets better. If he gets elected what would his policy be on issues like immigration? Will america have an open border?? will he reach across the isle , work with the democrats as he frequently does to make sure all the illegals in this country get citizenship??Who will be calling the shots here---on issues ranging from immigration to abortion??Will she influence him to be tougher on abortion or will he ignore the republicans and side with the dems on issues like immigration? And what happens if he dies? How would palin handle important issues ranging from national security to abortion??There are simply too many unkowns involved here!I don't know which way he'll go---right ,left, center?Infact this guy has flip-flopped so much in the not too distant past that i no longer know where he stands on issues. In 2000 he ran as a liberal for the primaries and didn't get elected. So he changes tactics and runs as a reluctant conservative now and wins the nomination.Once he got that nomination,he again changes color and reinvents himself as a moderate republican who will work across party lines to bring change. So what kinda president he will be(for the time he lasts) is anybody's guess!!
Despite all these short comings,i still wanted to vote for him for the sole reason that he's experienced(in FP/NAT SEC).And that i believe is far more important in these troubled times than his flip-flops, his position on immigration, his tendency to side with the democrats on important issues, etc, etc.!But then his choice of VP has sadly nullified the only reason i would ever consider voting for him!In this case, there are simply too many known unknowns, and unknown unknowns and i don't like it
Now that i made my point you guys are free to call me “agent provocateur for the left" In fact why stop at that? Go ahead and call me "Michael moore"
