The racist attack is coming on Sarah Palin - the last refuge of the scoundrel.

It's already been attempted. Albeit in a small way. I read a thread on FR yesterday where some so-called journalist from Canada wrote a piece in an online rag called LA Progressive. He alluded to a story about some waitress named "Lucille" in Alaska who overheard Sarah Palin make a derogatory racist remark to a group of people at her table. It was supposedly loud enough to be heard by all. Yea, right.

The story has no legs, is being credited to some "Lucille" somewhere, and is typical of the Marxist crap being spewed today. But, it's already starting...

"Bradley effect? Everyone is lying to the poll takers, could McCain be poised to blow him out?"

I haven't heard much talk about the Bradley effect in the media lately. I wonder if there is any way a pollster could do a poll to quantify the effect, if it exists. I believe it does, but I have no idea how large it may be.

I have no use for Willie Brown’s politics, but as a longtime Californian, I am deeply impressed by his personal and political accomplishments. For him to make this statement is HUGE for our cause; not that we should get cocky, but this is another indicator of good things on the horizon.

And we don’t do well on defense.

That's because they are so, well, offensive.

Coming from NJ, I understand the Torricelli affect, but this being a general election, don't absentee ballots begin to get turned in soon??

If the Dem's were to pull a Torricelli, those who voted in absentee, are not being given the same choice of candidates as those who vote on election day.

I dont think this would pass constitutional muster.

He was more like the money carrier.

Exactly. Most of his brilliance consisted of raising huge amounts of money from the SF elite, and as his power grew, all around CA. Then he would give significant money to the campaigns of other Dem candidates for Assembly and other offices. As they got elected and re-elected, they did so by being totally beholden to Willie. So they would reliably vote with him to ensure his support for the next election.

Simple, effective, and totally corrupting.

"Plus he’s probably the smartest, savviest politician in CA"

No Contest.

California goes Red this year, Willie knows it.

I wonder how King Willie feels now that he is the Conservative voice of reason in San Francisco.

Brown is either a genius or everyone else is stupid. Look at the length of his career and all of the things he's gotten away with. I remember when he was speaker. His law firm was representing people who were lobbying the legislature. No problem!

I was doing an investigative interview at the Hyatt across from the capital. Left about 10 PM. In walks Willie with a gorgeous redhead on his arm, straight into the elevator. On another occasion he was with a drop dead gorgeous Asian woman at the Punch Line. That's what my husband would call genius.

Willie got a Honda NTX (sp) as his state car. The first one in Cal, on the taxpayer's dole.
