I'd like to know who actually *wrote* these bills.
Did other Congressmen provide him with staffers, and or legal secretaries, council, or advice?

Because I will bet that Obama never even read the content of most of the bills that have his name on them.

Well it does show he brought his “community organizer” mentality with him right into the Senate.

No defense of Obama here but most congress critters have their legilation written by aides and legal teams.

The idea is brainstormed by the office, ideas for the bill finalized, bill written then read and approved by the critter of record.

I’m perfectly going after Obama on the issues and his experience in Chicago and the Sentate. Only two problems exits.

1. His Senate records leads little to debate. He has done nothing.

2. Most of his activites in Chicago seemed to be kept in Fort. Knox. Nobody wants to release any information that would possibly be used against him.

To: Brytani; All

From what I see, most of this either died in committee or is bouncing among them. A few were simply tabled. A couple were voice-voted (as being too inconsequential). Only one seems to have had a recorded vote (and lost).

Guess he really was too busy, running for his next job and all.

But the list is important. I wonder if there is a facility in FR for archiving data like this for permanent access.

After all, this thread will eventually stop being pinged and roll into obscurity.

No wonder he wants the electorate not to delve into his elected experience background. Not that he's worried we'll find anything to hang him on, we just won't find anything.

“...A bill to provide a mechanism for the determination on the merits of the claims of claimants who met the class criteria in a civil action relating to racial discrimination by the Department of Agriculture but who were denied that determination....”

This one is unintelligible. It looks like the only ones that passed, were passed by unanimous voice vote. >>>

What did he do in 2006 before he started campaigning? It wouldn’t be hard to co-sponsor and let others do the work. Seems a lot of show for the black community and Africa.

Don’t you know, the current talking points over his time at Columbia say “that time doesn’t matter, he went to Harvard!!”

NO, I didn’t know that. But then the atmosphere on Barack’s planet must be getting thin.

Yea, I see that about the links. I copied the source code for all links but for some reason it’s redirected them to Free Republic but going no further.

Go to http://www.thomas.gov/ and fill in Obama’s name under the Senate field and the listing will come up from there.

I’m checking with the Mods to see why the links aren’t working.

Thanks

The sheer volume of proposed legislation tells me he had no intention of shepherding through any of these bills, but rather, he was building a legislative portfolio for his presidential bid. And that helps explain your observation of the bills being racially based.

That was my initial thought as well. Propose a few good for some legislation just to get your name on it, then claim experience to be president.

I see no bills that are for the benefit of the United States or even for the benefit of Illinois.

While this may seem silly, I always thought the main unwritten job of a senator was to legislate for the country and secondly for their home state.

S.CON.RES.96 : A concurrent resolution commemorating Irena Sendler, a woman whose bravery saved the lives of thousands during the Holocaust and remembering her legacy of courage, selflessness, and hope.

Well, he got one right. Too bad she lost the Nobel to the Goron.

I guess his handlers didn’t tell him she spent her life saving Jews and advocating for them.
