POST ENDORSES JOHN MCCAIN (The New York Post: "...we're in their corner to the finish.")

POST ENDORSES JOHN MCCAIN

THAT'S THE TICKET: John McCain and Sarah Palin, here onstage at the Republican convention, offer the promise of sound economic, security and energy policies.

THE Post today enthusiastically urges the election of Sen. John S. McCain as the 44th president of the United States.

McCain's lifelong record of service to America, his battle-tested courage, unshakeable devotion to principle and clear grasp of the dangers and opportunities now facing the nation stand in dramatic contrast to the tissue-paper-thin résumé of his Democratic opponent, freshman Sen. Barack Obama.

McCain has been in Washington for many years now, but he is not of Washington. He knows where the levers of power are located - and how to manipulate them - but he is not controlled by them.

McCain's selection of the charming, but rock-solid, outsider Sarah Palin as his running mate underscores the point.

Neither plays well with others.

And this is an unalloyed asset at a time when special interests - lobbyists, lawyers and organized labor chief among them - wield enormous influence in the nation's capital.

McCain's Democratic opponents, Obama and Sen. Joseph Biden, lead a party constructed of special interests - public-employee unionists in particular.

A sledgehammer assault is a nice way to start the week  :-)

Thank you for being on this and posting.

You're quite welcome, and I'm delighted that you've found it to be worthwhile. :-)

It's quite unfortunate, however, that I couldn't post the whole thing...I do hope that readers take the time to read the entire article, as it's a matter of picking virtually any paragraph to find an utterly devastating blow against The Anointed One:

"Obama backed policies that would have abandoned Iraq to its fate,"

Re Georgia:

"Obama called for UN action - unaware, apparently, that Russia's Security Council veto would have prevented any"

and it goes on and on....

It's one solid punch after another....a delight to read, at least for me. :-)

I think this is the first official endorsement for either party.

The Post has never been in the tank for Zero- as the article states, the paper endorsed HRC during the primaries. It ripped Zero for the Greek columns, showing no inclination toward his theatrics and rhetoric.

BTW, I havent seen a black New Yorker read any paper other than the Daily News since the days of the Giuliani administration, when the Post’s current political positions were first published in an unmistakeably clear voice.

This enforsement will no doubt cement the antipathy they have towards the paper of Alex Hamilton.

‘...in their corner to the finish...’What a great way to start a Monday! (That had to draw blood.)While over in Obama’s camp, the fair Michelle is throwing dishes. Two months to go. Pray long and hard. Obama had better start buying paper plates.

I gather you aren't counting the endorsements from Hezbollah and the Communist Party for 0bama?

((((snicker)))))

Although this endorsement was certainly not unexpected, I found it to be refreshing in it's enthusiasm and unassailable in it's justifications.

It is also one high-profile Hillary supporter who has moved over to McCain....one of millions to come, I'm sure.  :-)

LOL, Stoat, if we were talking unofficial endorsements 75% of the newspapers would be endorsing the O.

One naturally wonders how long it will be before the weakest of the 0bamanation will begin committing suicide....I recall there being at least a few after 2004 who wrote notes blaming George Bush, and they've convinced themselves that McCain / Palin will be "just more of the same".

Hopefully they will be able to get some quality meds before it's too late......

Their deifying flirtation with Hildebeast is a scar that won't likely fade away anytime soon, but I'll take their endorsement for what it is while retaining a wary demeanor for the future.  This positioning article doesn't make me believe that there aren't still a gaggle of hysterical Socialist HillaryBots scurrying behind the scenes  :-)

New York Post, I love you!

And hopefully the Love will be returned to readers in the form of true journalistic professionalism; something that many folks have seen only scant allusions to in the dinosaur Press over the course of the past few decades.

Although I might quarrel (if I were the quarreling type) with your number as being on the low side, I generally agree and fully expect at least that number to fall in lockstep behind The Messiah when their papers make it official.

One of the many things that this election will illustrate is how utterly and completely out of touch most 'news'papers are with the public that they profess to 'serve'.

Wait until some College Commies or some Code Pinkos try to throw a pie (or worse) on Governor Palin as they tried with Miss Coulter and so many other Conservatives, and the Secret Service bundles the miscreants off to a very, very dark hole in the ground....the video of it will eat up bandwidth on the internet for months and will cause the GOP coffers to swell dramatically   :-)

Hope they can hang on through the election.

They will, as long as we support them.  This is the final push, and we can't be getting squishy now.  Forward, Ho!  :-)
