Pulling the Curtain on Palin
WashingtonPost.com ^ | Tuesday, September 9, 2008 | By E. J. Dionne Jr.

John McCain's campaign acknowledged this weekend that Sarah Palin is unprepared to be vice president or president of the United States.

Of course, McCain's people said no such thing. But their actions told you all you needed to know.

McCain, Barack Obama and Joe Biden all subjected themselves to tough questioning on the regular Sunday news programs. Palin was the only no-show. And it's not just the Sunday interviews. She has not opened herself to any serious questioning since McCain picked her to be next in line for the presidency.

scarbouough is still pissed he was played by the mccain camp.

How many of these talking hairstyles are just terrified they might get played the way reagan played the media.

If nobody pays attention to the MSM personalities, why are they paid so much?

‘..the buildup to the Iraq war, the Bush administration and its supporters savaged the patriotism of many who raised questions about its strategy and its plans.’

I don’t recall this. Anyone?

I think this is an out and out lie.

Sarah Palin shall appear on the “talking heads” shows in good time. In fact, she has already been interviewed by one of the lesser lights, Glenn Beck, BEFORE she was named the Vice President candidate on the McCain ticket.

In the world of “Gotcha” interviews, with their smash-mouth, gut-knifing, take-no-prisoners tactics applied selectively on the various political luminaries, depending on whether they are “worthy” or not, it is better that Sarah Palin appear so full of grace and fair of face, they dare not invade her space.

Given a few more weeks of exposure of the voting public at large to Sarah Palin, even Keith Olbermann would have to treat her with kid gloves and in an obsequious and subservient manner.

If he would ever get the chance.

I’ve got news for this little panty waste, Until Obama & Obiden face Rush Limbaugh on his show they haven’t faced any ‘tough questions’. And then there’s Ann Coulter, haven’t faced her either, or Laura Ingraham, the list goes on.........

LOL. Maybe, E.J., Sarah was busy taking the message to the AMERICAN PEOPLE.

See, here’s the deal: the PEOPLE vote...not journalists. So your self-important Sunday talk shows are only useful if the candidate thinks they’re useful.

You D.C.-laden smart asses don’t get to decide if your show is important enough to warrant a visit from the next V.P.

Have I made myself clear?

One of Ronald Reagan's great strengths was that he knew how to go around the MSM and talk directly to the American people. The MSM hated him for it.

They hate Palin for the same reason. How dare she demonstrate the irrelevance of the MSM? Doesn't she understand that they and they alone are the gatekeepers of what the American people should and shouldn't hear?

Man,that woman is GEORGEOUS! Oh sorry, I got distracted, my comment is that the mainstream democrat press want her OVER EXPOSED so people will start getting weary of her. (not gonna’ happen)

They know that constant exposure on their networks will start to diminish her star power. The McCain and Palin people are doing a smart thing by leaving the people wanting more.

If he treats her more deferentially than he did Obama, we will know that McCain's war on the media is working.

They keep measuring Palin up against Obama. What is it they're saying with that without really saying it.

We don’t need the MSM to help us get to know Sarah.

Since they stopped functioning as a free press should, the need for candidates to be questioned by them is moot.

They have made themselves irrelevant.

Has anyone noticed when the MSM TV reports on the Palin speeches, they merely REPORT what she said, rather than show a clip of it.

Sarah is just too POWERFUL to show.

The fact that America does not agree with him drives him nuts.

The same goes for all the Big Media Elitist who get that "tingling feeling".

Along with their Hollywood friends, their egos fog their brains, unable and unwilling to accept that the majority of Americans do not think or feel as they do.

It's quiet entertaining.

E. J. Dionne is not helping the liberal mainstream media who is on death watch.

The America public is not buying Dionne’s garbage no matter how many MSM newspapers print it.

ON THE OTHER HAND, Investors Business Daily and Wall Street Journal have been publishing appropriate commentaries on the weakness of OBAMA.

We need to encourage people to subscribe to IBD and WSJ.

Support our friends.
