Cindy McCain: The Real Community Organizer
Human Events ^ | 9/9/2008 | Lisa Richards

Barack Obama has spent two years telling America that his wife works for the community of south-side Chicago, making Americans think Mrs. Obama devotes her life to charity work. The opposite is true: Mrs. Obama sits on the board of University of Chicago Medical Center and is paid her for her work. It’s been reported that a patient can only be treated at the hospital he or she has insurance, yet Michelle Obama claims she fights for those in need. Cindy McCain saves lives without receiving one dime; she has literally gotten down in the trenches with people less fortunate, never seeking praise or money.

The only thing Americans hear about Cindy McCain is she is the chairperson of her father’s Anhauser-Bush beer distributorship, Hensley & Company, and her personal net worth is $100 million dollars. Many do not realize Mrs. McCain’s father borrowed the money to start his business in 1955; one year after his daughter was born. Cindy McCain was not born to wealth. The media and press never tell her real accomplishments of service to those in need around the world.

The media has devoted two years to praising Mrs. Obama because she’s married to Barry Obama, but what has she essentially done that makes her First Lady material? Michelle Obama has no track record as a lawyer fighting for the community; her reputation of service is based on what she and her husband have invented for the media.

I was talking with someone today and realized something...I too was a community organizer of sorts - just like Obama.

I was a Girl Scout leader. My troop was very involved in our community. I helped the girls organize events for Seniors, children without moms (or dads), the NICU at our local hospital, etc., etc.

Does this mean that I'm qualified to be President of the United States?

After seeing the video clip this evening of Michele My Belle Obama gyrating with Ellen DeGenerate in an absolutely hideous outfit, I’d say that Cindy McCain has her out-classed in every department.
Does the campaign really think this helps her sorry image?

Cindy is an amazing lady. The video they showed at the RNC of her and her accomplishments was beautiful. Wife, mom, pilot, race car driver/builder, volunteering around the world... We need to have her follow the lovely and gracious Laura Bush into the White House.

The thought of Michelle Obama in the White House makes my skin crawl.

How true. Although she is rich, she does not seek gain or fame for herself. She’s been in the limelight primarily due to her husband. Others should use her as an example. I greatly admire her.

Sarah spoke of a servants heart. Someone pointed out to me that people with a servants heart do not have to go around telling people all they have done. They just do it.
Cindy just does it.
Its no surprise McCain chose Palin as his running mate. He lives and loves a woman who is just as strong and capable and has a servants heart.

Are you implying somehow that she’s playing it up?

As I understand, Cindy McCain not long ago had surgery for Carpal Tunnel – something I have some first hand knowledge about having suffered from both Carpal Tunnel and rotator cuff tendonitis at the same time and I can tell you, it is very painful.

She wasn’t injured just because some guy shook her hand too hard, rather some guy got way too enthusiastic and exasperated and re-injured a pre-existing injury.

What I find interesting is that the heroic Kennedy Family spends our money on the poor. They spend theirs on booze, women and boats.

I forgot...also on new Oldsmobiles to replace those they drive in the bay.

The McCains spend their own money on the poor.

No bragging, no publicity, they just do it.

What a contrast.

The same could be said for Bush. He never allowed a military family to be a photo op. He meets them behind closed doors in private. And for those that have lost sons or daughters in the war, he grieves with them and prays with them.
He does things that no one will ever hear.
Thats why I am proud to be in the same party as people like these. They don’t talk the talk....they walk the walk.

To paraphrase Eisenhower, we even got better community organizers than the community organizers.

Understood, but then some ‘Rats” have been making silly comments like “Cindy is so frail and sooo privileged and so above everyone else that a mere handshake with the common folk puts her arm in a sling”.

From what I understand, and much to her credit and her character, she hasn’t made a big deal out of it. Now if this had happened to someone like John Edwards, the poor hand shaker probably would have faced a big lawsuit by now.

Curtis Sliwa is the original community organizer.

That’s more than a bandage; it’s a cast. Every time I saw her applaud during the convention I wondered if she should have been doing that.

I hope the PUMAs, among others, notice that John McCain has a lifetime of partnering with a strong woman.

The fact that he is so at ease with Palin, and is not troubled by any of the ego trips many men his age (especially politicians) might have with being upstaged by his running mate, much less a female running mate, demonstrate beyond a doubt that he’s become a natural (true) feminist through Cindy’s life and work.
