TROOPERGATE: MEET THE INVESTIGATORS (You MUST see this Photo)

(Regarding) the phony inquiry being staged by Alaska Democrats concerning Governor Palin’s sacking of recalcitrant underling Walt Monegan.

For anyone doubting that this whole ”investigation” is a partisan scam cooked up by a bunch of good-old-boy political hacks, here’s a smoking gun from the Obama-Biden campaign web site:

The man overseeing the “investigation,” Sen. Hollis French, is the bald guy near the back (fifth from left, by the Obama ‘08 posters). Any doubts about this hack’s objectivity yet?

Well, it gets better. Last week, for obvious reasons, Rep. John Coghill asked the Alaska Legislative Council to remove French from the probe. Coghill’s request was rejected:

On Monday, the head of the Legislative Council turned down his request. Democratic Sen. Kim Elton responded that he is sure that partisan politics can be kept out of the probe.

You know what’s coming, right? Senator Elton is also in the picture. He’s the tall bearded guy on the far left (ahem) of the photo. His Alaska State Legislature web page can be found here.

So, there it is. The guy overseeing the troopergate ”investigation” and the man charged with keeping him honest are both proud Obama partisans. If ever there was a put up job, folks, this is it.

Meanwhile, just in case French and Elton need some help ginning up October surprises, the Dems have sent a small army of oppo research creeps to drill for dirt. What could make anyone vote for such people?

Didn't the trooper also shoot at his son-in-law or stepson?

Thank you for addressing this, as my thread got locked due to fact that the “lipstick on pig” had several threads. HOWEVER HALF OF MY THREAD was about this issue of three democrat Senators heading up this TROOPERGATE investigation...and they should step down now as it is a conflict of interest, since PALIN is now a VP candidate for McCain...THANKS and we need to write the Attorney General of Alaska to make this point.

If they destroy Palin, congrats, your presidential candidate beat up our VP and you still are a stuffed shirt in an empty suit. Your number 1 wants to get in mudslinging contest with our number 2. I posted this earlier today. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2078644/posts

It was discussed on Fox earlier today with Shep. Read the transcript and listen to the YouTube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdpjKf9neQg&eurl=http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/09/obamas-wasilla-airborne/

SMITH: Molly, we understand you have some new information about the so-called Governor Palin ‘Troopergate’ case. First give us a back story on that case if you can and tell us what’s up now.

HENNEBERG: Right, ‘Troopergate’ is the investigation into when Sarah Palin as governor – if – as her critics say, she fired her public safety commissioner because he wouldn’t in turn fire a state trooper, who was Palin’s ex-brother-in-law. Some Democrats and her critics are saying she was involved here and may have abused her power, but the McCain campaign today is out with a new picture of the three lead state legislators who are investigating this whole ‘Troopergate,’ and it shows the three of them at Obama headquarters in Anchorage, Alaska in July, which the McCain campaign says shows the whole investigation is politically tainted and compromised, something you will hear more from the McCain campaign as the investigation continues.

Whoa, it's even worse than that.... did you see the press release on the Obama website? (linked below)

The Obamanators are going to wish they did not use French and Elton in the presser below (weeks before they had any idea that Sarah Palin would be the VP nominee), because now Hollis French and Kim Elton are inextricably tied to the Obama campaign as strong supporters and not merely as two Democrats among many.

Hollis French and Kim Elton did not merely pose for that photo, they are leading, trusted supporters of Obama who were quoted by the campaign in a major PR on Obama's "energy plan" -- so they are definitely very trusted Obamanators, or else the campaign never would have given them such prominence in an official press release.

This so-called "investigation" is clearly nothing but Obama hackery. These Moonbats must be stopped in their vicious tracks.

====================================================

Obama campaign press release (July 30, 2008):

ALASKA ELECTED OFFICIALS RALLY BEHIND OBAMA’S ENERGY PLAN

Obama supports Alaska gas pipeline

JUNEAU, AK – Today in Juneau, state representatives and senators from across Alaska gathered to rally behind Barack Obama and discuss his plan to address record-high energy prices that are straining Alaskans budgets and hurting the Alaska economy.

“Senator Obama has a plan to end our dependence on foreign oil and reduce skyrocketing energy prices,” said Senator Hollis French of Anchorage, a former oil rig worker. “Having worked in the oil business in Alaska for twelve years, I know firsthand the importance of oil and natural gas to Alaska. Senator Obama will not only invest in renewable fuels and increase car fuel efficiency standards, he strongly supports construction of an Alaska natural gas pipeline and accelerated drilling in the Alaska National Petroleum Reserve which will provide affordable energy to Alaska and our country and good jobs for Alaskans.”

“Rural Alaskans have been especially hard-hit by skyrocketing energy prices and the faltering economy,” said Representative Mary Nelson of Bethel. “Barack Obama understands the energy challenges they face, and he will work as president to lower energy costs and get our economy back on track. Senator Obama will be a fighter for rural Alaska.”

“High gas and energy prices are squeezing Alaskans harder than anyone else in the US,” Senator Kim Elton of Juneau said. “We need a president who will work to make Alaska resources part of our country’s energy solution. Barack Obama has long been a supporter of Alaska energy priorities like the Alaska natural gas pipeline. He’ll work as president to invest in Alaska’s energy future and make Alaska part of the answer.”

Jackpot!! This Hollis French scumbag must be stopped -- his "investigation" is clearly nothing but a political hit. Another Obama presser from the campaign link above, in which Hollis French is essentially the official spokesman for the Obama campaign on energy policy!!!! Whether or not he has any title with the campaign, here is an entire press release organized solely around Hollis French speaking on behalf of the Obama campaign about energy policy, attacking John McCain, etc.

ALASKA SENATOR FRENCH OUTLINES OBAMA PLAN TO LOWER ALASKA GAS PRICES

Alaska gas prices are the highest in the US

ANCHORAGE, AK – Today as the average price of a gallon of unleaded gas in Alaska reached $4.69, State Senator Hollis French discussed Senator Obama’s plan to help end America’s dependence on foreign oil and criticized the John McCain campaign’s latest misleading negative ad on gas prices.

“Senator Obama has a plan to end our dependence on foreign oil and reduce skyrocketing energy prices,” Sen. French said. “Having worked in the oil business in Alaska for twelve years, I know firsthand the importance of oil and natural gas to Alaska. Senator Obama will invest in renewable fuels, increase car fuel economy standards, and strongly supports the Alaska natural gas pipeline that’ll provide affordable energy to Alaska and our country.”

This week, the McCain campaign launched a negative ad running on national cable TV that tries to blame Obama for high gas prices.

“This ad’s claim is patently false,” French said. “John McCain himself has said that high gas prices are 30 years in the making. Senator McCain has spent 26 years in Washington, and has consistently opposed efforts to end our country’s dependence on foreign oil.”

He tasered the boy (after the 11-year-old apparently asked him to).

He threatened to shoot Palin’s father if he “dared” help her sister obtain attorney representation in their divorce proceedings.

There are a variety of other charges against this officer as well.

The trooper's stepson "ASKED" to be tasered after his stepfather got back from a taser training session with his brand new toy.

And the trooper "put the taser on the 'test' setting".

This was the trooper's explanation of the event.

I'm not sure why Democrats and the troopers' union think that we should have a state trooper who appears to be totally judgment-deficient out there pulling people over for law enforcement purposes.

I mean - I don't respond to requests from 10-year-olds regarding potentially dangerous activities.

Playin' with the Taser? That would be a Big No, Bob.

Do you have a source for that? I had only heard that he TASERED his (step-)son - not that he SHOT at him. I had also not heard about Bristol being involved. I would appreciate if you could enlighten me to these apparently new facts...

I am aware that he threatened to shoot the Governor’s father if he tried to assist her in finding legal representation during their divorce.

No, I believe the guy tasered the boy (which is bad enough). There is a separate death threat in which he threatened to put a bullet in Mr. Heath’s head (Sarah Palin’s father). Either should have been enough to get him fired. And there was more....

Add to that the threats against Palin’s father, and several other charges that have been files against the trooper — one involved hunting without a permit, and I seem to also recall something about being intoxicated in his police cruiser.

From what I recall (read about this the night before she was chosen) they had originally given him a 10-day suspension, and the Union had a fit and reduced it to 5 days - despite the fact that the Security detail in charge of protecting the Governor had declared him a clear and present threat to the Governor and her entire family...

Also, just for good measure — none of this had anything to do with WHY she fired Moneghan. The reason she gave for firing him (not that she needed ANY reason at all as he served “at her pleasure”) is because he failed to properly file Troop Vacancy paperwork. She even went as far as to offer him a job in a different department of the State Government and he refused it...
