'Ridiculous'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 09/10/2008 6:57:43 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

We now know the official Obama talking point on Lipstick-gate.

In the course of her Morning Joe appearance today, Obama spokeswoman Linda Douglass used the word "ridiculous" no fewer than six times to dismiss the controversy that has arisen since Obama said yesterday that you can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig.

Media are in complete panic mode trying to cover this up so that they can get their puppet Obama elected.

There’s a Dutch expression “You can give a monkey a gold ring, but it stays an ugly thing.” Imagine if a conservative had made that statement about Obama, claiming the same thing, that he wasn’t referring to Obama....

The universe would be too small.

The president of the US should know that words have consequences.

Would he have said the same thing if Palin had been Muslim?

The two campaigns have each developed a core message, which is conveyed in a small sign posted on the lectern.

Obama’s says: CHANGE.

McCain’s says: COUNTRY FIRST.

Obama is fighting against a McCain/Palin onslaught that points out their actual record in reform (and his utter lack of such a record). Thus, they are challenging the basic integrity of his campaign’s central message.

McCain’s message is unchallenged.

If you want a snapshot of the race, that’s where it is today.

Obama will spend the day playing catchup on this, but he’s going to lose, because thirty million people heard Sarah Palin say ‘hockey mom = pitbull + lipstick’ right before Obama said ‘my opponent = pig + lipstick.’ Obama can’t claim he wasn’t familiar with the speech; it’s just not plausible given the focus he’s had on Gov. Palin in the last few days. Obviously he’s concerned with her, and therefore is familiar with her introductory speech.

When he finally patches up as many of these holes as he feels like he can, he’ll realize he’s lost a day or three of fighting for the CHANGE message. He’ll have to get back to fighting for the integrity of his claim to that core message, after several wasted days on damage control.

The clock is ticking.

"I thought it was sloppy."

"It was a sloppy choice of words."

"It was just a sloppy attempt at humor".

"I think it was just sloppiness on Obama's part."

"The only way I can describe it is sloppy."

"It was just sloppy."

Ridiculous won’t cut it. Obama is gonna retract the comment, apologize for it (well at least the standard, ‘if I offended anyone’ non-apology apology) and do it now.

So what happens if we call Obama a monkey or a maccacca (or whatever it was)?

He'd be screaming that they were racist attacks...

Heck, they are already calling making fun of “community organizer” as being racist.

Suck it up buttercup. This is the PC world you and your pals have built and it is a minefield for everyone - and you just went BOOM.

“Pig in lipstick” is comparable to “macaca” and we all know how that worked out. Pay back is a pig in lipstick, Barack.

Just saying 'its ridiculous' is not exactly an argument.

That is funny reminds me of a Monty Python: "An arguement is more than just contradiction" , "No it isn't"

Priceless.
