Anyone who said that Charlie Gibson might go easy on Sarah Palin might want to quickly delete those comments.
What the ABC newsman conducted yesterday was a serious, professional interview that went right at the heart of what we want and need to know about the governor: Could she be president? Does she understand the nuances of international affairs? Does she have a world view?
He was all business, respectful but persistent.
~snip~
Lots of conservative ridicule for this sentence in a Wendy Doniger piece on Palin for WP/Newsweek's On Faith blog:
"Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman."
Does Doniger know something I don't?

Palin claiming Iraq behind 9-11-DEBUNKED BELOW:
This Washington Post page A1 story claims "Palin Links Iraq to 9/11, A View Discarded by Bush"
"Gov. Sarah Palin linked the war in Iraq with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, telling an Iraq-bound brigade of soldiers that included her son that they would "defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans."
Nowhere in the article does it quote Palin saying Iraq was behind 9-11. It was al Qaeda who "planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans".
According to Obama's own website:
"Under the Obama plan, a residual force will remain in Iraq and in the region to conduct targeted counter-terrorism missions against al Qaeda in Iraq"
So Obama promises to keep troops in Iraq to fight al Qaeda, the group who carried out 9-11, just like Palins son will be doing.
Compare and contrast this interview with his interview with Obambi, which pretty much went along the lines of, “How ya feelin’, Dude?”
Your not a woman until you kill your own unborn.
It’s a right of passage.
To be a REAL woman you have to earn the abortion badge and wear it wtih pride.
Vlad the impaler would be a proud Obama supporter.
Howie “the Media is really mad now” Kurtz having another “we agree with us” moment.
Since when is taking Palin's past quotes out of context and being condescending considered respectful?????
Wendy Doniger: Professor of the History of Religions, University of Chicagos Divinity School
Dang it, I swore I would never again read a Howie Kurtz piece after he recently became totally unhinged over Sarah. But, there it was, and I took the bait. I read 2/3 of this tripe, a complete waste of perfectly good synapses.
Looked to me like he failed in his rookie outing.
Now, I thought Charlie did pretty good for his first interview with the Governor of Alaska. He’ll get better with on-the-job training.
He's not ready for Tim Russert's job yet, and for the life of me, I can't think of who the ABC honcho is.
Not so. Vlad Tepes, Prince of Wallachia, would have Barack Hussein Obama's head mounted on a pike.
(He had this thing against Muslims, or those with Muslim blood.)
Looked to me more like Gibson was playing the role of a trial attorney cross-examining a hostile withness.
But, for the most part, Palin handled it very well. She gave as good as she got and was not afraid to give "conservative" views that might have rankled her inquisitor.
Gibson was doing his best to force some gaffes out of her for the MSM to play over and over during the campaign. They will say that Palin didn't know what the Bush Doctrine was, but that would be quite a stretch.
No win for ABC here, despite Gibson's gallant try.
And now Gibson comes under fire for his disengenuous misquoting of the Governor that, by the way, she called him on at the time.
Ping!!!
Please see my post # 13.
Gibson only proved what an arrogant schmuck he is. His bias was up front and personal not hidden for one second. He’s in the tank for his boy, the Muslim Messiah. Gibson and his cohorts, 99% of the Liberal media, are in bed with Osama Obama. One could say “they’re sleeping with the enemy.” This time around there’s no hiding it and their arrogant assumption that we’re all morons is showing as well.
It's because of something the left and the elite cannot understand and are blind to.
Sarah connects with everyday people. She was mother who wanted to make a difference in her community and joined the PTA and it went from there. She didn't need an ivy league degree in Political Science, she didn't need a law degree, she didnt need rich connections, she just needed honesty, integrity, her faith, and a desire to serve.
She didn't seek wealth, power, or high position...it just happened and that connects with most Americans of all stripes (outside of the leftists and elitists whom she threatens) who in their hearts want to try and help their communities and improve things for their kids.
So true, Jeff.
As a popular public servant and private business owner, Sarah Palin is someone who places family at the center of her life, as a mother, a wife and a person of faith. She has demonstrated a record of character and integrity that speaks for itself. A person who supports traditional values and beliefs. An accomplished leader who gets high marks from the citizens of Alaska. And someone who believes in bureaucratic reform and a return to the Founders original intent of limited government. I'd say that qualifies her as a solid conservative. Her appeal to the average American is what stands out to many folks.
Mark Levin really tore into Gibson tonight for his arrogance and ignorance re remarks Palin was filmed making to her church audience concerning G-d and the Iraq war.
