If John McCain was hoping to cruise through his fifth appearance on “The View,” he was in for a surprise Friday.

Within seconds of walking on the set, the Republican presidential nominee was grilled by the co-hosts of the ABC morning show over his choice of Sarah Palin as running mate and his claims that together they will reform Washington.

“I don’t see the old John McCain who used to buck the system as much, I understand why. You want to get elected,” said co-host Joy Behar.

This is such BS, I am really offended at the audacity of these people sometimes. Oh well, it will just galvanize the base and those people will be even more butt hurt when they loose the election. All the while, asking themselves “why”?

Chasing after his precious moderates and independents. If it wasn't for Sarah, we'd tell him "good riddance!"

The liberals are being so harsh and so mean. Honestly, if this were a liberal Democratic woman running, they wouldn’t say a thing. They are so contradictory!

The thought of those wretched liberal hags questioning and Honorable HERO like McCain makes me sick.

They will accuse you of insane things that how do you defend against charges wo Insane they are laughable?

I wish just once OBAMA was subjected to the same interview severity as McCain. McCain is tough and can take it but doesn’t deserve to be grilled. While obama gets the fawning interview full of softball questions!

He went on the View to show he wasn’t afraid of anything, which we know he isn’t.

I watched it, he and Cindy were graceful and charming. The hostesses were clearly uncomfortable. Babs and Whoopi were looking down a lot.

Yep. Cindy and John did the grilling.

Phoney headline, imo.

Cindy and John looked fine, the hosts of the view came off poorly.

Agree. When will we see old Joe Biden badgered over and over by some media bozo as we witnessed last night with Palin and that Gibson person? We can hold our breath on that one.

In fact, I e-mailed ABC about the show asking that question. About half an hour later they responded with the standard “We have so many e-mails we can’t answer them all - thanks for writing.” Uh huh —— I’ll bet last night’s “mail” was pretty negative about the handling of that “interview” and rightly so.

Thank you SO MUCH for this ping. I had missed The View this morning, as well as his scheduled appearance on Rachel Ray.

Did anyone see the Rachel Ray episode this morning? I would love a link to the video on that as well if anyone runs across it.

contradictory? how about this...

has anyone in the media asked 'the one' whether or not he was ready to be president? repeatedly? (thereby suggesting disbelief in the answer)

they could ask McCain, and he would say yes... as he has been in command before, and his answer would be without question.
