He has supported embryonic stem cell research in the past. I think his position is evolving to the good.

This is brilliant, and I'll tell you why.

McCain is baiting Obama into a discussion about medical science and pro-life issues, and he started off by taking the center ground.

McCain, for whatever you feel about him, is pro-life, and will appoint pro-life justices. But by waving the red cape of embryonic stem cell research, it signals to the center that, hey, I like science and medical research too.

But it's a red herring. Most Americans aren't really tracking on the difference between types of stem cell research. But they do understand grisly pictures of late term abortions, and the visceral late term practices that Obama voted to protect.

So, either Obama abandons this point to McCain, or he jumps into the unborn life issue, the grim details of which he is far too extreme on for most of America. McCain's deep in Obama's OODA loop again.

It's another nail in Obama's "liberal extremist" coffin if he does, or it's a battlefield abandoned to McCain if he doesn't.

“Clearly, John McCain supports it,” he said, emphasizing that the ad is intended to refer to all forms of stem cell research, including experiments using human embryos and those using cells from adults.”

He’s given us Palin and now believes that he can go full blown lefty.

It seems this McCain spokesman, Brian Rogers, is contradicting McCain’s position.

They need to clear this up, and how.

Good points!

McCain is used to being around battlefields and live ordnance to boot, this is one minefield Obama will be wise to avoid.

All of you people panicking on this had better do a search on FR. There is an article posted today in which McCain clearly states he does not support embryonic stem cell research, or as the article said, he doesn't support making embryos so people can kill them and use their stem cells. So there you go, look for the article. This ad does not say he supports embryonic stem cell research. Bush supports stem cell research also, but he doesn't support embryonic.

I declare we have more trolls on this forum then we know what to do with trying to stir up trouble. It won't work, the idiotic bozObama is going down in a big way.

I agree. That’s why these things are done on Friday. The McCain website is very clear, he does not support this.

I’m also willing to bet his campaign spokesman never even said this.

McCain shouldn’t go near the embryonic stem cell question. It is a mistake.

A HUGH mistake! It cancels out the Trig Factor.
