McCain Responds to Obama's Reported Undermining of the Commander-In-Chief During Wartime [Andy McCarthy]
The McCain Campaign has issued a statement responding to the report from Amer Taheri (see today's web briefing) that Sen. Obama secretly negotiated with the Iraqi government regarding U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. McCain spokesman Randy Scheunemann stated as follows:
At this point, it is not yet clear what official American negotiations Senator Obama tried to undermine with Iraqi leaders, but the possibility of such actions is unprecedented. It should be concerning to all that he reportedly urged that the democratically-elected Iraqi government listen to him rather than the US administration in power. If news reports are accurate, this is an egregious act of political interference by a presidential candidate seeking political advantage overseas. Senator Obama needs to reveal what he said to Iraq's Foreign Minister during their closed door meeting. The charge that he sought to delay the withdrawal of Americans from Iraq raises serious questions about Senator Obama's judgment and it demands an explanation.

Yes, this is a matter of National Security for political power and treasonous at the least. If this is true, he needs to not only be brought up on charges, but removed from office immediately.

The Obama campaign will have to give a detailed statement on this in the next 24 hours.
When he does, that statement will be intensely scrutinized.
If the White House or the State Department is forced to comment on this, the fur will really start flying.

That is a sensible response from John McCain.
One of my biggest problems with Barack Hussein Obama is that he does not sound sensible when I hear him unfiltered and unedited. Sometimes he sounds like another left-wing kook. other times, he sounds like he is trying to sound smart, without succeeding. He's about as persuasive as Ted Kennedy. Their ACU ratings are about the same.

We cannot depend on the MSM to accurately portray the seriousness of this covert operation by The Messiah, but it should be trumpeted by GWB also, whereas the actions were CLEARLY interfering in a foreign country where American Troops are deployed and at risk.

McCain vs Biden. Hoo ya! Not necessarily. Unless DemonRat party rules require it. More likely the DNC would pick a "more suitable" candidate, should The Messiah become untenable, or withdraw (like that going to happen..NOT). Remember this whole party and party candidate selection is aconstitutional, and in many respect alegal as well. The parties are free to nominate whomever they wish, at least up to the filing deadline in the individual states. Even after then, should the Anointed One be removed in disgrace, the electors pledged to him could just vote for the New Anointed One..say Hillary perhaps? Biden might find himself VP candidate with her Thighness, if he's lucky. If he's not he could be replaced as well, under some pretext or other, with one of Hillary's cronies.

McCain has an ad almost made. First are the statement made back in May (reported in NYT and others), quotes from the Iraqi Foreign Minister, then Obama’s response. A lot of play here. Obama (and the Democrat MSM) will spin this as having been out there for a while but what was out there was only Obama’s side of the conversation.

Guys - Color me skeptical that Obama actually did this. This is something that is beyond the imagination. It cannot be. This will turn out to be THE story of the decade and IF TRUE will surely lead to the immediate suspension of the Obama / Biden campaign.

Glad you put in the /s tag. They can deny (or spin) it all they want. Until a counter response comes from the Iraqi government, they’re caught up in their lies. General David Petraeus has also been linked in earlier threads where he was approached by Obama. This could get very interesting.
I hope Obama keeps denying the story.
