It would be pretty hard to see the splendor that is Alaska and think, Oh, My Obama.
“If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.” - Jesus Christ (John 15:18)
In the end, all earthly conflicts are reflections of the eternal conflict.
Great article. And the author is exactly right - having to face a Christian and God scares the heck out of liberals.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
I'll have pleasant dreams tonight.
Don’t forget Saturday Night Lives depiction of her, the dinosaurs, and the group of homeschool kids.
The media doesn’t get it.
“Sarah Palin not only believes in God, she belongs, to the horror of her liberal critics, to the Assemblies of God, an evangelical church.”
Get your facts straight. (1) She has not been a member of AOG for six years. (2) AOG is not an evangelical church. It is a Pentacostal church. They are different. It is one of the older, larger and one of the most racially diverse congregations in America.
While any Christian denomination worth its salt is “evangelical” in the sense that was Christ’s commission to us (”Tell all nations about Me”), AOG believes that the gifts of the spirit manifest today—not just in Apolostic times. Members regularly manifest those gifts. The gifts of the spirit do not include snake handling in AOG.
Its pastors are almost always seminary trained, very bright, and deeply devoted to their mission. I get a charge out of the old media’s conviction that Christians (especially Christian pastors) are stupid. Anyone who can read and understand Paul’s epistles in depth is bright enough to graduate from Harvard, high in their class. It’s just that they chose a different, and much more rewarding, path.
Ferraro ecitd women back in 1984, but though she is an attractive women, she is not sexy. Palin attracts men and women.
That's the dirty little not-so-secret-anymore with respect to establishment feminists - they own their own glass ceiling and are defending it to the utmost. No one who isn't approved may shatter it. Hillary may; Sarah may not. They are truly terrified of her success because it will mean that success can come without bowing to them.
There is a revealing catchphrase within the feminist Left: "If men got pregnant abortion would be a sacrament." But it is to them, isn't it? A sacrament? And to spurn it is the act of a heretic. In rejecting God these women are not rejecting religion, far from it, they are dictating the terms of their own, and a very ugly thing it is.
The whole media frenzy thing is caused by their antichristian bigotry. But they can’t admit to that. So they focus on other things, small issues, belittling conservatives and conservatism, finding fault with the tiniest thing while overlooking Obama’s huge faults. The bible calls that “straining at a gnat while swallowing a camel.”
Thank you.
I’ve heard it said that upwards of 80% of Americans believe in God. (Of course, 62.475% of all statistics are made up.)
My point being: DC and the MSM are failing to realize the large number of Americans who actually recognize and consider a Christian God as an omnipotent deity with 1) a plan, 2) control, or 3) both.
I think the choice we face is really not between religion and secular atheism. Secularism simply does not have the sustaining or moral power to stop Islam. Even now, Europe is showing us that its secular worldview is not standing up against the onslaught of Islam and is already failing.
In the end, America’s choice will be between Islam and Jesus Christ. Oh, wait a minute...Obama vs Palin. Maybe the fight is already here?
Yes, it's off the topic of the article, but, I wish he was here to savor the moment.
" "I need to know if she really thinks dinosaurs were here 4000 years ago..."
Which particular policy issue would this relate to? Does he want Agents Scully and Mulder to find a living T. Rex? Or something else troubling him?
“I believe that the duel between Christianity and atheism is the most important in the world. I further believe that the struggle between individualism and collectivism is the same struggle reproduced on another level.” — William F. Buckley
That is incredibly profound. I’ve never heard that one before.
Ping! A must read.
Sobering and true.
