While illegal aliens flee strict immigration enforcement policies in several states and settle in Texas, the state's budget is suffering and violent crime, soaring.
News reports indicate a flood of illegal aliens is coming from states such as Arizona and Oklahoma where immigration crackdowns have made life more difficult for them. In the meantime, Texas' violent crime rates have taken a turn for the worse.
WND researched FBI crime statistics from years 2006 to 2007 for 29 of Texas' largest cities with populations of more than 100,000. The Preliminary Annual Uniform Crime Report reveals two of the state's well-known sanctuary cities with "don't-ask-don't-tell" policies, Houston and Austin, have surging violent crime rates. Houston experienced an additional 314 violent crimes in 2007 compared with 2006 figures. Austin had 213 more violent crimes reported to law enforcement than the previous year.
According to the stats, overall, the 29 most populous Texas cities had 1,083 more violent crimes committed in 2007 than in 2006. While arrest records usually do not indicate suspect citizenship status, the crime trend matches a migration wave of illegal aliens coming from locations such as Arizona and Oklahoma states with strict immigration enforcement policies and declining violent crime rates.

Wait until they get monthly NRST checks added to their entitlements package.
From what I know of the FairTax, only citizens with Social Security numbers who file with the government will get a rebate check.
You knew that, right? You were just having fun with man50d, weren’t you?
While I’m not doubting crime rates increase with more illegal immigration, I do have to wonder if Houston has seen an increase from Katrina “refugee’s” who decided to stay.
They’re just committing crimes that Americans won’t commit.
Have to take in to account the good folks from New Orleans and hurricane Katrina when looking at Texas crime figures.
From what I know, your assertion is false.
I suspect that you know it too.
LOL Real or fake ones? Will they change the law to include everyone, even illegals? With McCain anything is possible. With Obama the destruction of the U.S. is guaranteed.

True, quite a lot of trash got washed in with Katrina but there’s still the problem with Perry turning a blind eye to illegals.
“LOL Real or fake ones?”
Exactly.
That’s one of the real headaches illegals cause: They have SS numbers, but they belong to OTHER people.
Hey, if five illegals are using my SS do I get five rebate checks?
What, illegals causing crime?
Who’d of thunk it?
Round up ALL illegals and deport them.
Except the Oklahoma Law did not take effect until November 1, 2007 and the Arizona Law did not take effect until January 1, 2008. While the increase in violent crime in Texas from 2006 to 2007 may be attributable to illegal aliens fleeing Oklahoma and Arizona in advance of the effective dates of the immigration laws, it could also be attributable to former residents of New Orleans or illegal immigrants moving directly from south of the border in the first place or soemthing else. In addition, the increase in the crime rate in Houston for example was .5% per 100,000 people, which is statistically insignificant and the increase in Austin per 100,000 people is even lower.
Thats one of the real headaches illegals cause: They have SS numbers, but they belong to OTHER people.
Hey, if five illegals are using my SS do I get five rebate checks?”””
No- you will probably get 5 letters about not reporting your income properly, and the amount that the IRS says you now owe them ++penalties ++interest.
A lady in Truckee got such a letter a couple of years ago. She chased the info, and 63 illegals were taken out of the Reno McDonald’s all owned by one person—Luther Mack. That was just one shift in a town that is 24/7. Mack denied he knew anything...SURE!!
His main honcho took the heat, but Mack got fined $1,000,000 one million dollars for the illegals.
One of Mack’s “employees” was using the Truckee lady’s social number. I sure am proud of her for chasing this.
Ding, ding, ding........We have a winner. Sounds like you know this from experience? Were you also in prison in Missouri, I was. lol
One of the selling points of the plan is that illegals are not eligible to get the rebate yet they will still pay the tax.
Will people cheat? Sure, but the program is not written to include illegal aliens. That would be self defeating and in fact, the sponsors would pull the bill if that changed.
I agree with your remarks on both candidates. And people will cheat the system if they can, but I was referring to the bill as it is written. Illegals ARE NOT included in the rebate program.
The NRST entitlement payments to illegal aliens (and everybody else) are not "rebates."
But you knew that.
