Did William Ayers Ghost-Write Obama Memoir?
World Net Daily ^ | Sept. 18, 2008 | Reynaldo Mahatma Smith

Posted on 09/18/2008 3:11:56 PM PDT by attiladhun2

According to Jack Cashill (see this link), there is mounting evidence to indicate that Barack Obama was not the author of his now famous memoir, Dreams From My Father. His research into Obama's literary background shows that, prior to 1990, Obama had written nothing of note. Then like a bolt from the blue, Obama produces a work described by Time Magazine as "the best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician."

Cashill observes, "I had questioned whether the influential Muslim crackpot who paved Obama’s way into Harvard, Khalid al Mansour, might have greased his way into the world of publishing as well." However, upon comparing the text of Obama's book to that of William Ayers' 2001 memoir Fugitive Days, Cashill now believes that the Obama book is substantially a product of the unrepentant former terrorist. He cites two passages from each book as evidence:

I picture the street coming alive, awakening from the fury of winter, stirred from the chilly spring night by cold glimmers of sunlight angling through the city.” Bill Ayers, Fugitive Days.

“Night now fell in midafternoon, especially when the snowstorms rolled in, boundless prairie storms that set the sky close to the ground, the city lights reflected against the clouds.” Barack Obama, Dreams From My Father.

We already know Obama has not been forthcoming about his relationship with Ayers. If Ayers is, indeed, the real author of the Obama memoir, it could well reveal Obama's true puppet master. Were it a shadowy billionaire like George Soros, that would be bad enough, but a fanatical Marxist ideologue and unindicted terrorist!

A forensic textual analysis of Ayers' and Obama's books could answer this question. It could also be the sword that finally slays the presidential asperations of the junior senator from Illinois.

Islam and the Left have been making common cause at least since the 1960s.

You’re quite right - Cashill clearly hasn’t done his homework. At this point all he has is unsupported speculation.

Dewlapped is a very uncommon word. Shakespeare uses it once. I did a search for uses of dewlapped, and Time magazine kept coming up. There is a staff writer who writes unsigned pieces like book reviews and obituaries that just loves using the word dewlapped .

You know I just heard about that “BS” story from Biden a few weeks ago. I didn’t think it was possible for my opinion of him to get any lower but, that scuzzbucket managed to make me even more nauseated.

Dear IT:

Cashill is getting further into the analysis of the Ayers/Obama texts in his latest installment (go to this link). That Ayers is the ghost-writer of the Obama memoir is becoming more convincing. This will be big. I hope Hannity and some other talk-show hosts begin to hammer on this. It must be shouted from the rooftops that Obama is a close associate of unindicted terrorists.

IMO, what Cashill has at the link isn't particularity convincing. That the Earl of Oxford was the writer of Shakespeare, now that is convincing stuff. What Cashill has developed on Ayers for Obama, not so much.

QUSM will settle this once and for all. I believe Cashill has made a very good case. Sentence length, use of metaphors, readability, reading level, etc., are tending show both books have the same author.

Do you know of a source to download QSUM? I’m not having much luck finding one...

No. I understand most of this software is in academic institutions. Good luck with that. Some word-processing software will allow a certain level of textual analysis, but not of the detailed type that could prove authorship.

BTW, you could also try searching using “sequential analysis,” “sequential hypothesis testing,” “probability distribution,” or “CUSUM.”

Cashill was on Rusty Humphrey's radio show last night. He has had lengthy passages examined by analysts, and virtually every test has shown a high probability of common authorship. Obama's literary efforts prior to Dreams were a couple of crappy poems. One was about gorillas stomping figs below the earth, a real stinkeroo of a poem. To go from this ridiculous poetry to a well-written memoir would be like a sandlot ballplayer suddenly making it to the bigs. The language of Dreams is Ayers, from the maritime references to the angry rants.

OMG - - Ayers is an American nightmare. If Obama's lying about who wrote the book - and it's Ayers - Obama's finished.

What would the MSM say if Timothy McVeigh had written Sarah's biography?

I think if you listen closely, you’ll find both Mr. and Mrs. Obama are really challenged to use the correct pronouns, tense, and agreement in regular conversation.

I'm sure the book was ghost written, but do you think Ayers was the one who wrote it?

Probably. Some astute journalist should ask Obama if Ayers participated in any fashion in either of his books. That's all, he just needs to answer the question.
