Ayers is a lot worse than what’s in wikipedia. His wife Bernadette is a real morally sick person, which didn’t prevent Billy Ayer’s multimillionaire big-clout dad, Tom, from talking Northwestrn University Law School into putting her on its faculty, despite the fact that she never got a law license.

Bernadette celebrated the Manson murders in a public forum by screaming delightedly into the microphone: “Then they stuck a fork in her (referring to Sharon Tate) stomach
-—wild!!” (or words to that effect).

Billy (the Ladykiller) Ayers admitted to plotting to bomb a women’s restroom in the Pentagon.

$80K in advances for a first-time author?! Holy cow.

Well put!

As a published author myself, I recognize this kind of treatment as unusual to the extreme. As you do.

"I am still wondering how he even graduated from HS, if he, in his own words, “attended class sparingly.”

The reason he won't release his academic records is that his grades are poor, yet he got into Harvard on affirmative action, which he was not qualified for. He is not of "slave blood," not economically disadvantaged, was raised by white people who set him up in a very prestigeous private school in Hawaii. He had every advantage, yet claimed AA. And that is something to be embarrassed about.

Ayers, at the instruction from someone with lots and lots of money to run the scam, was sent to recruit Obama right out of Harvard. In the case of Obama, never forget that Islam condones lying to promote Islam. If American voters are stupid enough to elect the fabricated candidate (with zero experience to do the job he’s applying for, thus someone else will be doing the job their way), Islam is more than willing to deceive US and give us a stealth Muslim who will in the end be the puppet of someone else.

If he claims he was in Bali, then I doubt anyone else was there helping him write a book. The ghost writer was back in Chicago, and he was taking time off, but not being around anyone so that no one could see he wasn’t at a word processor all day. I don’t know the contents of the book, but if I was writing about my life in Chicago, I would be in Chicago writing it, in order to verify facts, and locations.

If the true relationship of Ayers and Obama were proven, then Obama would have lied to Stephenopolis saying “He is some English professor in my neighborhood I barely know” when everyone in Chicago politics knows that Ayers is an Ed prof. Interesting that Obama’s brain, which has to spend precious energy separating his various stories, should pick English.

No question about that.

The New York City Police probably kept watch and files on Ayers when he was at Columbia at the same time as Obama. No way to get to those I suppose. I went to school with Ayers (Michigan) and watched him cultivate relationships with and use black men. (Did you know he was proud of being born on Mao’s birthday?)

I doubt that there are official files on Ayers from that period - at least not FBI files. The Church Committee took care of that. Police files, if any, would presumably be difficult to access. No, I didn't know about the birthday connection, but it isn't surprising.

Both passages are very skillful constructed. I would doubt Ayers or Obama has the experience in writing to construct such sentences, so well ... ‘amateurish’ is often offered with sincerity by the author without the author realizing the amateurish nature is obvious to an editor, and those two passages are not amateurish though they are both expressed in a bygone era fashion reminiscent of Hemingway or Wolfe.

Hi Okie01,

Pleased to meet you. From what I know about advances (not from my own personal experiences), a first-time author may get between $5-10K against future royalties/sales, depending on the subject and their platform. The woman who wrote “The Jewel of Medina” received about $100K for a two-book deal from Harper Collins, simply because the proposed work was so compelling and the resulting sales would be huge, I’d expect. I don’t know much more than that.

And the $80K seems to have been advanced without taking his travel to Bali into account. Did the advance pay for the office and the assistant, or did the publisher pay for that separately?

I'm not at all convinced that Ayers was Obama's ghost, but it seems very likely that he had one. It is, after all, a long-standing tradition among aspiring Democratic politicians...

This whole notion that Emperor Zero didn’t write his own book has been intriguing me since I first heard it suggested a few weeks ago. The theory has the “ring of truth” to it, because he’s been such a persistent underachiever (or non-achiever), while the book is said to be quite well-written.

Here is an interesting article by Ted Sorenson, the gifted speechwriter long-time Kennedy aide who was the real author of JFK's Pulitzer-winning Profile's in Courage. While endorsing Obama more than a year ago for the presidency, Sorensen compared Obama to Kennedy.

In addition to their similar handicaps, Kennedy and Obama share an extraordinary number of parallels. Both men were Harvard-educated. Both rose to national attention almost overnight as the result of starring roles at the nationally televised Democratic convention preceding their respective candidacies: Kennedy in 1956, when he delivered the speech nominating Stevenson and subsequently came close to winning an open-floor struggle for the vice presidential nomination with Estes Kefauver; Obama in 2004, by virtue of his brilliant speech to the convention that year in Boston.

Both also gained national acclaim through their best-selling inspirational books — Kennedy's "Profiles in Courage," published in 1956, and Obama's "The Audacity of Hope," published in 2006.

While we’re feeding books into the comparison algorithm, it would also be useful to verify that the same person wrote “Dreams of My Father” and “The Audacity of Hope.”

” It seems there were some rich radicals behind Obambi from way back.”

I agree with you. He looks like he’s been groomed and polished by other people. It would be very interesting to have more information about him - a very odd thing to say about a man who has allegedly written two autobiographies !

They wouldn’t have had to be in Bali at all. Even if Obama was necessary for interviews/checking drafts, etc., it could have been done remotely. Bali has long-distance phone service and I believe DHL delivers.

Yeah, no kidding. You wonder if this wasn't an attempt to write the "Leader's" bio before he became the great Leader. At least with Stalin, they waited until after he became a tyrannt.

And at least Kennedy's ghostwritten book was about somebody besides himself.

Have to agree with you there. The two compared passages don’t look similar to me.

Hmm - I have Profiles in Courage, but have not read it. What do you think about the Sorenson’s writing in PIC versus Obama’s first book?

The $40K for an untried author is enough to send off warning flares that this is NOT an ordinary transaction.

Another $40,000 after he has not produced a phrase by the original deadline is beyond the bounds of comprehension.

The office and the secretary were provided by Univ of Chicago, in the expectation that he would publish. But he failed to avail himself of these facilities and he and his wife decamped to Bali -- presumably funded by his advance.

No, technically, the ghost writer would not have had to be in Bali.

However, if I were the ghost writer, I would require some major face time with the person whose "autobiography" I was writing.

That's assuming the whole thing is not a fabrication, of course.

If there was a ghost writer, he would have been in Bali for at least some of the six months.
