The founder of Movieguide, a top film-rating organization in Hollywood, is joining a growing call for a boycott of two new movies that feature pedophilia, warning of the dangers that come with themes involving sex with children.
"These despicable movies promote pedophilia, whether intentionally or unintentionally," said Ted Baehr, who's well known for his Christian Film & Television Commission work. "There should be a massive public outcry against them. The inclusion of children in sexually explicit films is inappropriate. There also is no excuse for the authorities to allow such material to be shown publicly."
Baehr cited "Hounddog," a movie featuring a scene portraying the rape of actress Dakota Fanning, filmed when she was 12, and "Towelhead," which features 18-year-old actress Summer Bishil playing a 13-year-old Arab-American girl who portrays a "sexual obsession," experiences "grooming" and other scenes.
"We've got to have communities rescue these children. Where's the sense of shame, outrage, the sense of saying, 'We're not going to let this happen," Baehr told WND. "We cannot do this anymore."
"The thing we need to do is avoid it," he said. "These people need to be stopped." Dakota Fanning in the controversial "Hounddog" film that features a child-rape scene

I think I’m gonna be sick.
That’s ridiculous. Does that mean detective shows promote murder?
“Towelhead?”
Did Jim Webb write this script?
We tolerate listening to Congress cheer for the freedoms DEMANDED by NAMBLA. We knew it was coming. Keep your kids closer than ever before!
Of course it is intentional.
According to the theory of evolution, there are fat times when all behaviors and traits flourish. There are lean times when survival is tested, and behaviors and traits which are not successful are winnowed out.
This is a fat time. The lean time will come, and will come sooner if we permit disfunctional behaviors to flourish.
Until then, guard your children from the disfunctional perverts, and their promoters.
I’m sure it’’ll win an Oscar, Matt Damon presenting.
IIRC, dakota fanning is raped by a boy of a similar age, and not an adult. does that make a difference?
Then again sometimes boycotts are just Publicity Stunts.
Aren’t these folks about 48 years behind the curve? La Ciociara (Two Women) in 1960 with Sophia Loren portrayed the rape of her daughter by Moroccan soldiers. What’s new here?
So does that make it alright now?! :O
We all know that there are things in the movies and on TV that would not have been permitted 20 or 30 years ago.
Homosexuality is ok, for example. Sex outside of marriage is shown or implied. Lots of barriers have been broken in terms of what sexual behavior can be shown or talked about. Now that they have done that, you have to show sex with children to have a new barrier that they want to break.
Eventually they want to break all barriers. And it’s not just on TV/movies, it’s in the larger culture too. It can happen and we should push back against it.
Does anyone think we would be talking about the Dakota Fanning rape scene if previous barriers had not been broken?
Well, if you watch enough of them, you will know the greatest pitfalls to avoid so you don't get caught taking out the freakazoid who tried to mess with your kid.
Don't try to tell me pornography doesn't make people horny--even 'soft' porn. For some sick people this would just whet their apetite.
Bingo!
You hit upon one of my favorite films of all time, TWO WOMEN. Rather bold for its day. It was wartime Italy, the Moroccan soldiers were there to sample the spoils of war, and chaos. I can’t pass judgement one way or another about
“HoundDog” and whether it has “redeeming social value” (a term used to legally define pornography), but I do sense too large a stink made over it, mostly from all the wrong quarters (people who, like me, haven’t seen it either/
and so are quick to draw the conclusion that it is aimed at what I would have to call “the latent pedophile market”.
My question was, how is this anything new?
And the 1960 movie was poignant and wasn’t diminished by the scene.
I hardly think that one film, done 50 years ago, defines this current lot as “not new”
99% of Hollyweird’s product is crap.
Wouldn’t spend a dime on any of it.
people might laugh about that right now, but seriously, by 2014, for sure, such a movie will be produced by Hollywood and will be up for an academy award. Shockingly, a good portion of "open minded" America will whine "What's WRONG with it!!??"
Here is hoping Jesus Christ returns soon.
