CHICAGO - Democratic U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin and his Republican challenger, Dr. Steve Sauerberg, have two debates scheduled before the November election.

First, the two will appear Oct. 6 on WTTW-TV's "Chicago Tonight" program.

Then, there will be a radio debate Oct. 9 from Knox College in Galesburg sponsored by the Illinois Radio Network.

Sauerberg, a physician from the Chicago suburbs, faces an uphill battle to try to unseat Durbin.

Durbin is the Senate's second-highest ranking Democrat and he has far more campaign cash, according to the latest federal filings.

Sauerberg could be the best debater in IL, but it won’t matter. People there are precommitted to a socialist agenda and have been for years and years. Of course, Chicago fraud makes the socialism easier to proclaim as the IL majority.

Sauerberg has been pulling in more cash of late, Tom Coburn had a big fundraiser for him. It is more than a long shot but I don’t think these races are impossible. What I find unfortunate is that people expect easy races or they don’t want to fight. Sauerberg needs to open up on Durbin. He has nothing to lose.

And the guns laws is working out so well in the Windy City too...

Turban Durbin will be back, unless he lets it slip what he really thinks. Also, Saurberg is not a favorite of conservatives.

Concur 100%. It’s unlikely that Durbin will lose, but that just means Suaerberg has nothing to lose if he goes for the jugular. And I have personally witnessed this clown losing his temper, so Sauergerg might just be able to get him to flip out on live TV.

I agree that Sauerberg isn’t conservative. He’s pro-choice, pro-gun control, and pro-Hillarycare. The debate should include all five candidates, to ensure that at least one conservative, Chad Koppie, is in the debate. Koppie is the only candidate, in that race, who is pro-life, anti-illegal alien, and pro-gun rights. Please read his site, www.koppieforsenate.com.

Is that race still going on lol? I met Sauerberg about a year ago and was wondering how he had time to run his medical practice and campaign. Nice family though. I’ll give him that. But he is no conservative. He just had more cash to throw around.

Yes, that race is still going on, but I hope that Sauerberg doesn’t think that he might win. The latest Rasmussen poll said that Durbin was ahead, 56%-35%.

I wish Sauerberg would start exposing these Chicago polticians as the thugs that they are... but then I guess his GOP handlers would get mad at him! He’d have to expose them as well.
