Pressure on Obama to hit hardest in first face-to-face showdown.

THE pressure is on Barack Obama to crush John McCain, his Republican rival, in the first face-to-face presidential debate at the University of Mississippi on Friday.

snip . . .

Obama, 47, has yet to convince voters that he is ready for the White House.

snip . . .

He now has to turn on the wit and charm and make good use of his youth to draw a contrast with the veteran McCain, 72, reinforcing his message of change. However, McCain, who has a stiff, cheesy delivery style for set speeches, can be quick on his feet.

The article notes that Obama is not a good speaker without a teleprompter which is the understatement of the year.

Let's see if McCain can keep his cool and Obama can become the Wizard of Ah's during the debate.

If the Communist North Vietnamese couldn’t “crush” John McCain, what chance does Barack Obama have?

Let's see if McCain can keep his cool...

That is the key!

Hussein is clearly on the defensive at this point, and the momentum is with McCain. He needs to let Hussein attack, atttack, and attack some more. If McCain can keep smiling, keep cool - - by basically ignoring Hussein and refusing to take the bait - - and simply answer questions put to him in a clear, concise, serious manner, viewers will easily see who is "Presidential" and who is not.

I just love their analysis. (sarcasm) They are saying that Obama has a tendency to be “professorial” and “analytical” in debate type settings. See, the problem is with us dummies out here who just aren’t smart enough to understand the “professorial” lectures of Professor Obama.

So, Obama is just too far above the rest of us. (sarcasm)

Yep, that’s it. It has nothing to do with his policies or ideology, it’s all just because we don’t understand all of the wonderful things he will do if we elect him president (more sarcasm)

McCain should say, “I don't see your teleprompter... is it in for repairs?”

Attempt to put him on the defense. That is their only chance.

Oh this is hilarious. Obama is sweating bullets for sure, Mac will wipe the floor up with him, I mean the guy sounds like a retard when he doesn’t have his telepromter.

Have you ever noticed how we never see one piece in the “unbiased” media about how McCain should go into the debates and kick Obama’s ass? Weird.

Yes, Obama should become the “angry black man” during the debates, that’s always so appealing to voters.
Same with McCain, he can’t be the old mean grumpy man either.
Humor is always effective when you can slip it in.
I think McCain has a better sense of humor than Obama, and that should come across in the debates.

As freepers we all know the long and troubled primary this has been for most of us.

Well at this point there is no question that McCain is one tough, m**her***ker.

Between Palin and McCain there may be some political difference, but these two are both Reagans in their own way.

Thank God for Palin and McCain.

Uhbama isn’t going to have his Teleprompter +5 to help him out in this one. He’ll have to rely on his wit and charm....*snicker*

McCain will carve up Obama like a Thanksgiving turkey.

McCain knows how to knife fight and he can handle the unexpected.

Obama is poor at both.

As long as John can keep his cool and realize that Obama is going to try and get his dander up, he’ll be fine. But McCain does have a nasty temper of his own and tends to lash out when he’s pricked. That would not be a good thing.

That is the problem with Liberals (one of their many problems). They are all over educated eggheads who go to elitist universities and think they are better and smarter than the rest of humanity. That’s why they can never win in the long run. The real people prefer their leaders to be like them and not over educated elitist eggheads.
