ACORN links challenge Barack Obama’s credibility (Re: current mortgage mess/voter fraud)

Democrats tout Barack Obama’s experience as a community organizer at the same time they’re complaining about the state of the economy. Well it’s important to connect the dots between these two topics.

As a community organizer, Obama worked directly for and with ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). In 1992, he was hired to run a voter registration effort. He later became a trainer for the group, as well as its lawyer in election law cases.

ACORN has not only been involved in numerous instances of fraudulent voter registration, vote-rigging, voter intimidation and vote-for-pay scams, the organization also took a lead role in pushing for and getting the underwriting standards for mortgages loosened with the support of liberal politicians in Congress. This was in spite of warnings that looser standards could lead to wide-scale defaults.

Once the standards were loosened, liberal politicians like Barney Frank and Chris Dodd pushed financial institutions to make more and more loans to homeowners who had little ability to repay them.

The result: the current economic crises.

So this raises a couple of important questions.

• What has Obama done to clean up the corruption in ACORN or has he just been complicit?

• Why is he so vocal about the weakness in our economy when the organization he worked for and his colleagues have been primary contributors to the current downturn that coincided with the Democrats gaining control of Congress?

The Congressional Black Caucus should be added to the list of enablers of the mortgage mess.

This information really must be put into a McCain ad in October. Enough people in the country know what a corrupt group ACORN is. Not enough people know that Barry Hussein was working for it in Chicago. If McCain waits for the msm to uncover this fact, he is dumb. The msm is too busy sending squads of investigators to Wasilla, AK trying to destroy Sarah Palin’s record.

community organizer: Code term for black activism, illegal voter registration, and protesting.

Obama is not exactly presidential material.

May 15, 2001:

Fannie Mae Announces Seven-Year, $55 Billion 'HouseChicago' Investment Plan to Finance Affordable Housing for 500,000 Chicago Families

Some highlights:

"Antioch Homes II is a strong example of our continued commitment to neighborhoods throughout Chicago. We're excited to expand our efforts to help more families find affordable housing in the city," said Fannie Mae's Gorelick. "Together with our partners, we have created an expanded plan that will allow us to address the unique housing needs of the entire Chicago area. We're building on our work with many of our partners and working with the people who best understand local housing needs to stretch our business goals and help more families...."

In addition to Antioch Homes II and the financial commitments announced today, several key Fannie Mae initiatives underway in Chicago were highlighted, including:

-- The City of Chicago/Allstate Home Improvement Program. With more than 73 percent of the City's housing stock built before 1953, and more than $300 million spent on home renovations each year, Fannie Mae joined the City of Chicago, Allstate and Countrywide to bring a below-market rate (6.5 percent) rehabilitation mortgage product with flexible underwriting terms to communities throughout the City....

-- Welcome Initiative. Through the Welcome Initiative, Fannie Mae's first comprehensive effort to serve the entire immigrant community, the company offers new underwriting flexibilities through its lender partners that allow immigrant borrowers to apply for a home loan even if they are only in the process of obtaining a green card, or do not have a complete U.S. income and credit history. Fannie Mae will consider alternative sources of qualifying income such as boarder income and part-time employment...

In 1995, Fannie Mae and the City of Chicago created "HouseChicago," a commitment by Fannie Mae to provide $10 billion in financing over seven years and to increase homeownership and rental housing opportunities for more than 125,000 families. In June 1998 Fannie Mae expanded the plan to a ten-year $12 billion commitment, at the request of the City of Chicago, to coincide with the city's five-year $1.2 billion affordable housing plan.

Since "HouseChicago" first was launched, 42 percent of the mortgage loans Fannie Mae has purchased from lenders went to first-time home buyers, 43 percent to minority home buyers and 62 percent went to low- and moderate-income borrowers. Today's announcement represents the expansion of Fannie Mae's commitment to the entire six-county Chicagoland area.

As a community organizer, Obama worked directly for and with ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). In 1992, he was hired to run a voter registration effort. He later became a trainer for the group, as well as its lawyer in election law cases.

Obama graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar on December 17, 1991 and joined the civil rights law firm, Davis, Miner, Barnhill and Galland in 1992.

I find this statement very interesting, "In 1992, he was hired to run a voter registration effort. He later became a trainer for the group, as well as its lawyer in election law cases." So ACORN was a client and this had to have been Obama's first gig as an attorney.

However, this is the first time I have seen a report that Obama continued his "community organizing" after being accepted to the bar.

1992 was also the year that Obama created "Public Allies."

Obama has, through his nonprofit group, "Public Allies," been organizing and training a political cadre since 1993.  There are fifteen fully-staffed and populated chapters, operating under the watchful eye of Michelle Obama.

The Obama Campaign is also conducting, at the state level, a "national program for social change," called "Camp Obama."

Obama Campaign's website promises that "you'll get the kind of experience that Barack got as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago," and "Camp Obama is your chance to step up and become a leader in this movement."

Movement?  What movement?

Public Allies and Camp Obama are Alinsky training program designed to build a core group of "community organizers" dedicated to "social change" in their communities.

Their charter will be to bring about "Change."  They'll do this through threats, pressure, tension and confrontation -- getting people "pissed off" -- the tactics of Alinsky.

Obama is cloning thousands of baby Obamas -- and on our dime.

A "movement" -- dedicated to social change by getting people "pissed off" -- and there will be thousands of them.

If Obama should sit in the Oval Office, just what do you think he has planned for these guys?

And -- if Obama shouldn't sit in the Oval Office, just what do you think he has planned for these guys?

And what color shirts will they wear?

Lenin said this about socialism: "The goal of socialism is communism."

None of this is good.

Public Allies has an impressive list of donors.
