Fox News ^

The show immediately opened on a political note (with a great round of applause) as host Howie Mandel said that he was on Palin's "bridge to nowhere."

Winner Jeremy Piven later laughed about the comments backstage, and when asked for his thoughts on the candidate, he responded that he was with Matt Damon (who recently slammed Palin) on that one.

Write to the Executives at GE. Tell them that you will no longer support NBC programs or GE products as long as Fey and her ilk are allowed to continue their anti-Palin ‘witch hunt.’

The more those yahoos flap their gums, the more the real American people trend toward McCain/Palin. The Hollywood crowd knows their comments hurt Obama’s chances, but they still can’t help themselves. What a bunch of undereducated, self-important morons.

****"Our founding fathers were community organizers. I feel it's been disparaged a bit," Linney told us in the media tent, adding that nobody should be disrespected regardless of their party or personal upbringing.****

Thats lovely. I thought our founding fathers were a bunch of sexist, slaveowning homophobes. Now it's the no they are actually community organizers line. These people are just a total trip.

Howie Mandel said that he was on Palin's "bridge to nowhere."

I'd agree...

The “folks” are as disgusted with the Hollywood elite as the rest of us. The good news will be when McCain/Palin win the “elites” y will be forced to joke about them for 8 years.

Tommy Smothers won a belated Emmy and proved once again why they got canned back in the 70’s. What an aging dunce. His comment, “there is nothing more scary than watching ignorance in action” was aimed at someone, but only made him look bad IMHO.

dont’ worry tina....I think it was not Sarah Palin who came into your life...she doesn’t want any part of your silliness either but...thanks for helping Sarah. You brought even more attention to her and let’s face it...your’re on a comedy sketch program while Sarah will be Vice President of the United States. I think you will be lost in the shuffle my dear.

Sadly I say again as long as Americans support these idiots by paying good money to see their movies, buy records/books, we continue to give them the wealth that enables them to mock our nation and us. Let them get a real job.

****”Our founding fathers were community organizers.

Almost fell out of my chair when I heard that. These folks have too much money and too much time on their hands. How is it that their are so few really intelligent folks on the Hollywood payroll. I guess Ronnie was a fluke, but then we probably aren’t aware of the ones who don’t use award shows as a political forum.

I’d much prefer Tina Fey be out of OUR lives. She doesn’t hold a candle to Sarah. She’s unnattractive, unfunny, has a scarred face and lacks any class or social graces Palin possesses.

I agree although I did not like the result. Even the liberal radio-tv blogger for the Atlanta paper said the football game will probably have better ratings than thr EMMY's.

One thing to remember about these ACTORS.

They are picked to ‘host’, and ‘present awards’ to fellow actors, for their work, and while they practice and practice, and are reading from a teleprompter, they sound a sixth grader giving his first speech.

They aren’t very good at ‘LIVE’ venues. EDITING is their GOD.

As a child, both the Emmys and the Oscars were so fun to watch. You'd have your occasional nut job, but it was more widely known NOT to do anything else but be appreciative of the award given to you.

As a young lady, I could look up to the pretty women, who acted like ladies. Gowns were beautiful and those wearing them walked with grace and glamour down the red carpet, respectfully answering questions posed to them by adults who actually knew about the careers of those they interviewed--it was all about the event and the production they represented.

Now, mental children don dresses and spew the word "amazing" to fill in every empty second they cannot come up with anything else to say in their giggly moments of glee as they prance down the red carpet answering questions only about their dresses and jewels--it's alllll about THEM.
