Hack into - and then publish - the email account of a major politician, especially one under Secret Service protection and currently running for Vice President, and you had better cover your tracks. Well. WBIR is among those reporting that FBI agents broke into a party at the Fort Sanders apartment of University of Tennessee student David Kernell early Sunday morning. A Department of Justice spokesperson confirmed there has been "investigatory activity" in Knoxville regarding the incident where Sarah Palin's Yahoo account was hacked and information published online.

She is the innocent here how does “Palingate” get imposed as the label for this liberal scandal?

“They reportedly ‘took pictures’”

LOL..Of What? beer cans on the floor and Girl’s Gone Wild posters? Maybe they did some real ‘investigative work’ and took pictures of his computer sitting on his desk.

The Pimply Perp soon will be wearing the garb that all well-dressed felons sport: handcuffs and orange.

NEVER happen - this is a kid of a RAT Congresscritter. RATs have only one purpose these days - get one of their own into the WH so combined with a majority in both the House and Senate, can bring about the socialism in America that they have been trying for all these decades. This kid will never do one day in stripes - take it to the bank. RATs have their own code of ethics and their RAT laws.

Does anyone find it ironic that this RAT plot to intercept Palin's emails is brought to us by the same party that has been screaming bloody murder about the eevvvil Booosh intercepting their phone calls and emails to their terrorist friends overseas? NYT (RAT DNC media) disclosing on their front page the SECRET government program to track terrorist financial transfers worldwide? The HYPROCRISY is more than any sane person can comprehend.

Watergate was the name of the building broken into for that scandal; so Palingate almost makes sense in this instance. Though maybe Yahoogate would be more precise.

The MSM has dispatched dozens of reporters to TN (first they will have to find it) in order to dig up dirt on this guy, interview his childhood friends of friends and babysitters, go through his trash, track down grade school photos and report cards, public records and lineage...oh, sorry, I though we were talking about Palin.

“Palingate?” Yes, let’s see if we can smear the victim by coining the term that would most unfairly tie her to wrongdoing!

How about hackergate instead?

All of this gate stuff is stupid anyway but I heard a lot about Monicagate and Troopergate but nothing about a Clintongate.

The Washington Post using the name Palingate is just another negative name association effort.

Good point.

Should be Hackgate, IMO.

Of course, they couldn’t come up with a name other than Palin-gate. People who don’t know what it’s about will assume the worst about the victim, not the perpetrator nor the action. Hacker-gate or some other title would be more appropriate.

So who should be in court here? A college kid, or Yahoo's email security people?

The criminal hacker (kid, my eye), of course, and probably any dumb SOB who doesn't know that (because he doesn't know right from wrong).

I'm surprised that doesn't happen more often, actually. Most of the "security questions" websites set up for password resets have answers that could be found without too much trouble, especially with the internet. People should try to pick questions that can't possibly be a matter of public record - things like your favorite movie, or first crush.

I dont do business with yahoo but if I did I'd make up a birthdate, zip code, and whatever else is asked. Would never give them my mothers maiden name ... anyone can find out that stuff. Just put something else that's plausible but not too common.

Yahoo is a bunch of leftists who will sell you out in a heartbeat.

Probably. Be nice if someone in the media gave more thought to what they’re doing, and had more scruples.
