Voice over talent. You hire them to read something into a microphone, they do so, then they get paid. There are thousands of people trying to make a living doing the same thing.

Does this person have an agenda? Maybe so, maybe not.... If they didn't read the script, just ask the next one on the list.

The point mypetjawa was making is that the smear commercial was done as if it were a grassroots effort, not a professional commercial. It did not identify it as an Obama commercial as the FEC requires. This looks like an effort to disguise a professional hit piece, produced by Winner and Associates, under the direction of Axelrod, using a professional voiceover actress they have used on other commercials. This was a setup to create a false story, get the NY TIMES to report on it, and make it go viral.

Well with my highly tuned radio ears(that hasn't gone deaf from all the rock music I've played) it sounds like the same person. But..it's hard to really tell.

My understanding (from decades living next door to Alaska), is that a the AIP is largely a protest party. Most of their votes come from Alaskans trying to make a point about heavy-handed federal government control over land and resources. (Most of the land is federal, forests can't be logged, oil & gas can't be drilled, etc.) Again, just AFAIK, almost all of the AIP supporters are loyal Americans — just trying to register a protest.

Yes, I listened to several from her site. It certainly sounds like her. Winner and Associates is in Los Angeles, but if Axelrod is running this, he probably would have had some of his local Chicago talent involved, particularly someone who already did work for him.

I saw the whole video of Gov. Palin addressing the AIP. She was talking to them as Alaskans, not as a member of AIP, and invited them to participate in the process and wished them luck. Thats all.

According to this review comment I found on consumersearch.com all VISTA machines have voice recognition software which rivals one of the best after-market products.... so anyone here who has VISTA (I don't, I'm still on XP) may be able to compare the sound tracks? [I don't know whether all "voice recognition" software allows you to compare different audio tracks for similarities, or if there are some software programs which will transcribe a voice track to text characters but might not do the kind of comparison we are looking for??? Anyone know?]

I have said I’m not sure, but it certainly sounds like her. And she is from the Chicago area. What are the odds that she would be in the same vicinity as say, er, David Axelrod?

Here is my theory:

Ethan Winner picked the same voiceover artist as Obama uses because he wanted his video to be impactful. He wanted to make it sound official, and believable. He wanted Air America and Keith Olberman to play it like Sean Hannity plays all of the YouTube-only McCain ads.

The idea of using a consistent voiceover on non-candidate sponsored ads is not new. Reagan used it back in 1980. The PAC "Democrats for Reagan" sponsored an ad using the same voiceover artist, and tagline, as official Reagan-Bush campaign ads.

Was this an Obama sponsored action, or a independent action of Winner? Personally, my guess is Winner and his crew acted without the help of Obama. Maybe with the tacit endorsement of Axelrod, but I doubt Obama himself was involved.

Why? Because I don't think Obama has the skills to do this. And there are enough people enamored with the cult of personality of Obama to spend their life savings to do crap like this. Obamaism is like the left's infatuation with Stalin in the 1930s or Mao in the 1960s.

The best thing we can do this election is to have these enamored leftists spend their life savings on "The Cause", quit their jobs and work as volunteers, etc., only to LOSE.

I don't think it's Vicki Haywood.

I think it's Cedering Fox.

Cedering Fox is a voice actor who did the in-hall announcing at Pepsi Center during the DNC Convention this year. She's also active in doing voice-overs for Democratic Party and candidate spots through her affiliation with political consulting and advertising agency Greer, Margolis, Mitchell, Burns & Associates (GMMB).

Listen to her demos: she's got the deeper vocal timbre that the announcer on the Palin smear video has. Haywood's voice is in a higher register.
