Coverage of the banking crisis is everywhere. Pundits and politicos claim the instability is threatening the financial markets and the overall economy. However, ABC's Sept. 22 "World News with Charles Gibson" used the crisis to take a swipe at the wealthy.
"In just six months, five major investment banks have now vanished from the landscape, ending an era of aggressive deal making and spectacular profits," Stark said. "These masters of the universe immortalized by Hollywood have been humbled."
The two movie examples Stark used in her report -"The Bonfire of the Vanities" from 1990 and "Wall Street" from 1987 - portrayed businessmen as greedy and immoral.

I saw CNN advertising for viewers with any pictures of gas lines so they can promote their great depression theme. They showed one, but did not identify where it was at. Probably from the hurricane evacuation in all likelihood.
Maybe they will trot out that 1970’s Fonda-Christopherson classic - “Rollover.”
Karl Marx would be proud of this exposure the evil ones that work hard and earn money....the socialists nightmare. The radical far-left Fifth Column has gone totally nuts....
“Wall Street” was a joke directed by Castro admirer Oliver Stone.
What, no “Huddsucker Proxy”?
Wall Street was a great film, and Bud Fox was a wussy...LOL
Gas lines will kill Democrats.
I liked that film, to me it showed what it takes to be a “come from nothing” Wall Street mover and shaker, Gekko went to far but then again, that was the era of Boesky and Miliken, they started out great out of the gate then stumbled as well.
“I just made a million in Hong Kong Gold”
One of my favorite lines from the film.
Pretty good flick, in my opinion.
Who the heck is “Stark” ?
Full name: Stark Raving Mad...
Weak minds think alike, apparently.
I actually thought better of Charlie Gibson, but after recent events I saw I was very, very wrong.
Shame on me!
However, ABC's Sept. 22 "World News with Charles Gibson" used the crisis to take a swipe at the wealthy.lies, all lies. The wealthy had nothing to do with this financial catastrophe. This was entirely caused by the poor and middle class and they should be punished severely.
