In my post #77 Russell’s debt should read “$243K” not just $243. :-) Sorry!

Hackett's raised over $2 million for his quest at PA-10, but he's basically spent it all and then some. As of 30 June Hackett had $267K in cash, with $740K in debt. Carney had $1.15M with no debt.
In PA-11 the June numbers showed Pubbie Barletta with $322K on hand and $168K in debt. Rep. Kanjorski had $2.17M in the bank with no debt.

I consider Gleason a half step above Murtha and Murtha’s in the basement. Sarah Palin will help Repubs more in PA than Gleason ever thought of doing, JMO. You might sense I don’t care for him either.

Great news, for both, ir! : )
I hope the people in and around Johnstown realize it has been hightime to get rid of Murtha, and for a long time.
I'm glad to hear about Gerlach as well! : )

You disappoint me. I thought for sure you’d equate it to a shortage of Charmin. :-)

What was the Dem to Rep #s in PA in the last election? Here's an answer, finally, from Jim Geraghty of National Review. D-41%, R-39%, I-20%
And the ARG used a +14 Dem sample. Not particularly realistic, and McCain's still only down by four!

Hey GregB! A co-worker at the courthouse got me a “McCain/Palin” t-shirt.
(I don’t think I should wear it to work! LOL!)

Please help spread the word. Last reminder that tonight is the FEC deadline to donate to conservative candidates in this quarter. This report will be one of the final tangible yardsticks by which to measure which races are truly competitive and which candidates get help from the party and big players.

NY-19 went for Bush with 53.4% in 2004. Dem incumbent freshman John J. Hall used to sing for the band Orleans, among others. He defeated GOPer Sue Kelly in 2006 by 2.5 points. Marine veteran
Kieran Michael Lalor is challenging the freshman musician, and Kieran is endorsed by Vets for Freedom. On 8/20/08 Lalor had $270K in cash, with $82K in debt. The musician had $1.1M and no debt.

Tim Walberg for Congress Tim Walberg is my Congressman. Tim is being challenged by one of the worst tax and spenders in Lansing, Mark Schauer. Tim is a good man who represents me well. He's a strong conservative who has a 18 year history in Lansing and DC of voting the right way on issues, both socially and fiscally.
To: Darren McCarty
Looks like a close race. A GOP poll last week had Walberg up 50-40%. Walberg’s opponent, Schauer, had $929K to Walberg’s $855K in mid July.

Can't remember if I pinged any of you to this thread. Throughout the entire thread I listed potential GOP pick-up opportunities in the House. Some very good opportunities, some more questionable. Feel free to add your thoughts on these or any other races.
PA has the makings of a lousy night for the Dems if things break just a bit right.

No you didn’t, and thanks. I hope you’re right. I agree 100% with you about PA. I still have vivid memories of just how poorly Obama performed there in the Democratic primaries. Palin can really help McCain and the GOP, especially in Western PA.

One other thing....yes, Dems made huge gains in 2006, but many of their victories were by razor thin margins all over the country. Now Congress has an approval rating that is even lower than the 2006 Congress, and I suspect many Americans learned for the first time this month that Democrats actually control Congress.

And the RNC just reported a record-shattering monthly haul of $66 million for September. Not bad for pending doom! :-D
If conservatives in western and eastern PA got involved for their local candidates like Bill Russell, Hackett or Barletta, they could not only deliver some House races but help put McCain/Paln's numbers over the top in PA. Which would effectively destroy the Obamessiah's chances of winning the Presidency.
