Racism Could Hurt Obama in Pennsylvania
U.S. News ^

Posted on 09/23/2008 12:35:46 PM PDT by Chet 99

MEDIA, Pa.—On a cigarette break outside the Seven Stones coffee house yesterday, Ashleigh Piazza, 23, did not hesitate when asked how Democratic nominee Barack Obama's race could affect his success here in southeastern Pennsylvania.

"It's kind of sad to say, but I think it's a major issue," said Piazza, a file clerk at the nearby Delaware County Courthouse, where in a few hours GOP nominee John McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin, would hold a rally. "There's lots of talk about his race around town," says Piazza. An Obama supporter even offered Piazza's mom $40 at a local bar the other night, she says, just to listen to him make a case for the Illinois senator.

Her coworker Jackie Zane, 23, said simply: "There is a lot going on around the race issue. Some say it just doesn't look right."

The young women, both raised Catholic, didn't know it, but as they were talking about the prospects of Obama's effort to become the first black president, a new poll was released suggesting that their hyperlocal analysis was reflected nationwide. Obama's multiracial background—his mother is white and father is black—could lose him up to 6 percentage points in what is expected to be a close fall contest against McCain, according to an AP-Yahoo survey conducted between August 27 and September 5. The survey was the first one of its kind that attempted to get at a subject that both the media and voters themselves have found difficult to talk about: how racism could affect the November outcome.

Yes they are attempting to guilt their own white dems into voting for Barry.

Fact is Obama hurts Obama the most.

The real story here is that apparently, Obama has sent out people with cash to try to buy votes.

Isn’t that illegal?

I recall hearing that 95% of black voters in philly have historically voted for candidates like john street and michael nutter. Seems that racism is going to HELP obama in PA.

PA is very winnable! If McCain wins that State it is over.

A 6% swing would be devastating to the Obama campaign.

Why sad to say? Of course race matters. 95% of blacks polled are going for Obama 5% for McCain. You think 95 % of black Americans are all socialists? No they are voting for Obama because his skin is black.
Of course there will be a percentage of white Americans that will vote for McCain because he is white. Certainly not anywhere near 95%.

Ask any Dem why they don’t support McCain, and one of the first 3 things they’ll mention is his age.

The guy/girl sounds very dense! The guy offered $40.00 to listen to him make a case to vote for Obama!!! Yea, right! That offer was for the oldest deed in the book, and a rather novel offer to protect against the Vice Squad one must add!

PA is not going to go for Fauxbama, and RACISM won’t be the issue, but it will be the excuse that the media is already setting up to use. Writing has been on the wall in PA since before the primaries were over, Fauxbama will not win this state.

Now its all about laying the groundwork for the excuses as to why, because as we all know the Fauxbamessiah can’t lose because he’s been rejected for being inept, inexperienced and incompetent... oh no, he got rejected because PA voters are just a bunch of racist slobs.

I’ll be the first to concede there’s racism in PA, and it cuts both ways big time, but its not why Fauxbama will win. The number of votes he’ll lose simply because he’s black, are countered by all those votes he’ll get simply because he is black.

This is unspeakable!

And don’t forget the 6% of blacks who will not be voting for He-Who-Parts-The-Waters because they are racists!

I know - it’s difficult to even think that these blacks could let race enter into their decision, but if they do not vote for Obama what other reason could there be?

We know that being dead, in prison, blown away on dope, or not being a real person does not usually keep people from casting a vote for the democrat, so this must be blatant racism.

Truly a sad commentary on the legacy of Malcolm-X.

Yes, Obama's racism.
Once people find out that Obama attended and supported a white-hating, racist church for over 20 years, it will hurt him.
Once folks discover that the church Obama supported honored Louis Farakhan as a great black leader.
Once they hear Obama's pastor ranting from the pulpit, "God damn America!"

They will discover that he has been a racist all along.

Obama’s racism is only the fifth most compelling reason why I could never support him.

Yes, and when Barry loses all these stories will be used by the media to try to shame the voters of this country. With the media in the tank for Obama I don’t expect to see any less of this type of ‘reporting’.
