And the Media Worries about Palin's Experience and McCain's Age?
National Review/The Corner ^ | September 23, 2008 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 09/23/2008 7:32:33 PM PDT by Delacon

I think in the space of about the last 24 hours, Joe Biden claimed that the AIG bailout was bad, but then said it wasn't bad;

that we did not need to burn coal;

that his apology about the dirty McCain ad was, as they say, inoperative;

that FDR once went on television to address the nation after the stock market crash of '29 (that's a twofer that trumps Obama's Americans liberating Auschwitz);

and all but said that McCain took a $50,000 bribe.

Not a bad day's work — encompassing terrible energy policy, flip-flopping, historical ignorance, and slander. And this comes on top of Palin the "good looking" "Lt. Governor" of Alaska, Hillary as the better VP pick than himself, the patriotism of paying higher taxes, and so on.

And those in turn come on top of the primary remarks about Indians in donut shops, and "bright and clean" blacks. And those in turn come on top of . . . (Well, go back to the pilfered speeches and made-up bios.)

Something is very wrong here. While most forgive the silly slip like "Barack America" or asking the wheel-chair bound to stand up, I think the Obama staff  must have gone from amusement to embarrassment and now to serious concern whether Biden is up to the job.

Had this been Palin, the election would now be over.

Sometimes it seems that the only Rat who would run with Obama, after seeing the internal polling, was Biden. This guy is an idiot. Almost every Sunday we saw him on the shows..and they could always rely he would show up when no one else would. Every Sunday he was an idiot.
God bless Biden. He is the savior of our Republic.

The last line is what scares me. If Palin so much as mispronounces the name of a foreign head of state, she’ll be fried. But, then again, I guess it would be hard to top the low they have already reached with respect to their Palin commentary.

The really scary thing—Biden is STILL more qualified than Obama!

Yep. To quote from The Corner once again:

The Biden Standard   [Jonah Goldberg]

Victor - I predicted this from the moment Palin was picked. As I wrote a couple weeks ago:

And let’s not forget Biden, whose gaffes are the unavoidable byproduct of his limitless gasbaggery. Biden could shout on Meet the Press, “Get these squirrels off of me!” and the collective response would be, “There goes Joe again.” But if Palin flubs the name of the deputy agriculture minister of Kyrgyzstan, the media will blow their whistles saying she’s unprepared for the job.

Palin has a good memory. She pronounced Saakashvili correctly and that is quite a tongue twister.

In the minds of libs and MSM, Obama and Biden are qualified and experienced enough to run this country, it ain’t matter how many gaffes come out from their mouth, nothing is going to change the fact that they are qualified.

As far Palin, she’s unqualified. Period.

“As far Palin, she’s unqualified. Period.”

As opposed to a governor from GA, CA, or TX? As opposed to a 2 year senator from IL? Explain please.

Didn't see the show, but it seems awfully soon to be at that stage. Gees, they just searched his place a day or two ago.

Why doesn't SNL do a skit with Biden sounding like a DRUNK (like he did at the one appearance not too long ago)???

Imagine if Gov. Palin sounded like a stupid, drunk--the way that Biden did---the comedy skits would never, EVER end!!

Well, I think that one solid reason is--ratings. I'd bet that the general public doesn't care one bit about Biden, and a skit about him would have people snapping to another channel faster than you could blink.
