NBC's "Today Show" this morning covered the battleground state of Virginia, and interviewed a family named "The Jansen's" from Leesburg, VA. Until recently, Ann Jansen and her husband Stacey (sp?) had been 'undecided' between Obama or McCain, but have now opted on voting for Obama.
What the piece fails to point out is that Ann Jansen is a bigtime Democratic campaign official/contributor in Loudoun County, VA, or as someone in the D.C. Radio & Television blog pointed out this morning:
"Today show gets duped!!! On the Today Show they highlighted a Leesburg, VA family who claimed to be a family crossing party lines to vote for Obama. Ann Janse has been an outspoken Democratic leader in Loudoun for many years!! Nice research NBC(DNC). (9/24/08)"
So there ya have it. Oh, and I also found out this on an "Ann Jansen from Leesburg, VA" in the Huffington Post. It's a $345 donation to the Obama campaign in March 2008:

don’t kid yourself...the Today Show was complicit.
Was the Today Show duped, or was the Today Show trying to dupe it’s viewers? NBC has a very BAD track record for duping it’s viewers.
How funny. You can see the agenda of the Today Show easily with this. They find a family that was supposedly undecided, and now they have decided to vote for Obama. They want to make middle America believe that people just like them are now deciding to vote for Obama. And convince us that this Virginia family will help swing Virginia to Obama.
Let’s not let the facts get in the way of the story they are trying to tell.

In a Galaxy far, far away and a time long, long ago, Journalists checked their sources before they went with the story. I guess that is just part of history now.

“The Today Show gets duped”, or the Today Show tries to dupe America? This looks more like the Dem party tactic of shoot now with lies for intended effect, retract lies later when no one cares.
