Katie Couric: If this doesn't pass, do you think there's a risk of another Great Depression?
Palin: Unfortunately, that is the road that America may find itself on. Not necessarily this, as it's been proposed, has to pass or we're gonna find ourselves in another Great Depression. But there has to be action taken, bipartisan effort Congress not pointing fingers at this point at
one another, but finding the solution to this, taking action and being serious about the reforms on Wall Street that are needed.

IF YOU LOOK AT THE TRANSCRIPT PROVIDED BY CBS, IT WAS COURIS THAT USED THE TERM 'GREAT DEPRESSION' IN FRAMING HER QUESTION TO PALIN. IT WAS PALIN WHO TRIED TO STEER COURIC AWAY FROM THAT TERM WHEN SHE SAID 'Not necessarily this, as it's been proposed, has to pass or we're gonna find ourselves in another Great Depression. But there has to be action taken, bipartisan effort'
SO IN THESE TWO EXCAHNGES, WE HAVE ALL THE PROOF WE NEED THAT THE MSM IS IN THE BAG FOR OBAMA. SHE DELIBERATELY BROUGHT UP THE 'GREAT DEPRESSION' IN HER INTERVIEW WITH PALIN, THEN TRIED TO AMBUSH McCAIN WITH THAT SAME TERM LATER IN THE DAY, TO IMPLY HE WAS SCARING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, WHEN IF FACT IT WAS COURIC WHO IS TRYING TO SCARE THE PEOPLE AND BLAME THE REPUBLICAN IN ORDER TO GET THE MESSIAH ELECTED.
No. Only an FDR could turn a liquidity crunch into a 10 year long death knell.
Over half the country knows the MSM is “in the tank” for Obama. It is certainly a higher percentage of those who are going to vote.
Waren Buffet has implied the same so Palin and McCain have little to worry on that front. On another front Palin was terrible. Her voice quivered and she was caught flatfooted after claiming McCain would be for more Wall St. regs, Gov. Palin was at a loss to cite one example of a MCain effort to institute more regs. She also refers to McCain far too much, as if her only job is to remind of his qualifications. That works on the stump, but in an inteview she has to speak for herself. I love Palin, but her time may not be now.
If they are going to keep lining up to go on these shows, then deal with it!!! Its not like they are victims here. They are all but begging to be shafted by even showing up. Anything that happens after that should not be a surprise.
Sarah Palin was authentic and real in her answer. Something that just transcends the other side.
Check my tagline.
These people are nothing but IQ-challenged attack weasels who are good at looking good, and good at getting observers to buy their spiel.
Thought the question and the answer were fine.
There would be NO reason to work on a bill if the Democrats hadn’t caused this mess.
Demand REPARATIONS from Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer and the rest of the Democrats who decided to give cheap mortgages to people who couldn’t afford them.
We should not have to pay for THEIR decision to block reforms of Fannie Mae (which Bush has been asking for since 2001).
So the guy says to his doctor, “Hey Doc, it hurts when I do this.”
Exactly right! I made this point in another post. It was COURIC who used the phrase Great Depression and not Palin and Palin did not expressly agree with her but stated if something was not done it would be a crisis situation. So Couric MISREPRESENTED what had occurred in the interview.
Knock Knock Katie???
It was Obama that first cited that this was the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.
Remember when you were mocking McCain for not getting excited enough about the economy? Thats when Obami brought that into play.
If we are at a risk for a great depression. shouldnt we know about it ?
Katie needs another colon cleansing.
Her time may not be now ?
To be VP. or what do you mean ?
I think she is ready. and she will be President someday.
All the way in the tank, but it shoudn’t surprise anyone.
“Katie needs another colon cleansing.”
She does one every night during her “news” broadcast.
Obama called it a potential Great Depression a few hours ago.
You might want to listen to the President tonight. I will be.
Before that, this is an interesting page on the Depression. The following section is good also. The trillion dollar question is “Are we on the Brink?”.
