If McCain can't win NC, he is done. It's a common sense state. My mother was born there. My parents met and wed at Camp Lejeune. NC didn't fall for the Perot pied piper and voted for Bush one.
If the tarheels go over to the darkside, we're all going there, into the Obama abyss. I think too highly of them. We won't lose there.

Actually they didn’t want the silky pony. He was heavily marketed in NC and we knew he was just a white Obama. Rich, pretencious, elected into Senate and figured he should be Pres, then VP, then pres, then wanna be VP, now sulking in his ambulance chaser mansion. We knew the guy was a lightweight, like Tennesse knew Gore was lousy, the rest of the country just didn’t know him yet.
Could you see this guy sweet talking and persuading Medvedev into his position? As a trial lawyer, I am sure he is cool under fire, but he still comes off as a showman. Try that with the Soviets ( I know they aren’t Soviets anymore, but they sure act like it.) And they will be holding more real estate.

Don’t buy the Libeal Indoctrination System (Education system) view of America. Lived 25 years in Boston and 10 in NC. There is half the racism on both sides of the coin in NC. Currently in VA, so I am neutral territory by the way...
In MA, nearly all the blacks live near Boston and for the most part occupy the lower end of the socio-economic spectrum. I moved to Raleigh and was shocked to see so many CFOs, lawyers and business owners were black. When black people walked by me on the street, we would give the typical southern “hey” nod of head like anyone else. Black people didn’t look at me like I was trying to offend them at every turn. I sold cars for 13 years, so I meet ALOT of people and am damn good at judgeing reactions and preconceptions. Blacks and whites treat each other as equals for the most part.
Look at Mass. I am certain a vast majority of towns have more than 75% black or less than 10% black.
I moved into a 1600 SQ foot home in the burbs for 103,000 after 9/11 when the market was “down”...not as down as it is now lol. The house would cost 350,000 in suburban Boston. When I told a friend that (he asked) “how did you buy it like that” I told him I got a good deal, but the property costs less here. Next question out of his mouth? “Do black people live in your neighborhood?” I told him yes, and he said that was why. In NC, every neighborhood from Prestonwoods golf course to the trailer park has black people. That was inconcievable to him and having lived there 25 years I know it is common. I grew up in a 99 percent white town, the same one that threw Bill Russell out of their ivory paradise.
There is a difference between Yankee racism and Redneck racism. A southern racist will be more than glad to tell you “I don’t do business with no niggers”. The Yankee racist will support every social program, press MLK into the school system more than WW2 history and profess that we are all equals. BUT MOVE IN NEXT DOOR? Better start locking the car...
It is just the reality of living together closer for longer. You grow accustomed to the fact that friends and people you should look at twice come in all colors.
