Going very much against the media meme that the current financial crisis is all George W. Bush and the Republicans' fault, Bill Clinton on Thursday told ABC's Chris Cuomo that Democrats for years have been "resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was President to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac" , relevant section at 2:45).

Whether he knew it or not, Clinton was going against virtually all press outlets that have been pointing fingers at Republicans since this crisis began, and likely much to the dismay of such folk actually agreed with a Fox News segment aired on Tuesday's "Special Report" (video embedded right):

The Democrats own this 'Crisis", Let's hope our elected representatives vocally point out the Democrat obstruction in overseeing our financial institutions.

Clinton seems to be going out of his way to help McCain. That is understandable on the theory that 2012 would be Hillary’s last shot at the Presidency and she won’t be able to take it with an incumbent Black democrat in the White House.

The bad news for McCain is that other than himself Clinton never gets anyone elected who he is trying to help.

I’m glad Clinton said that. McCain can use all the help he can get, from whomever!

Ha ha. Watch for Nobama to be admitted to the hospital having a stroke. Michelle was premature in planning the inaugural ball.

Don’t have a scorecard, but are the Dems most exposed on this the same ones who turned their back on Hillary?

all this stuff that the RATS are trying to add on to this needs to be exploited today by McCain and the Repubs....they (RATS) are taking advantage of a crisis to add their crap on that we will be paying for...this is what Mccain talks about all the time, he needs to stand up today loud and clear and point it out and who is responsible. This is his moment to change things big, hope he does. The American people will not see that as a political move, they will agree with McCain. (of course I can’t account for the loser liberals, they will never get it and ARE the problem!)

Wasn’t it Bill Clinton who signed into law the act, passed by a Republican-controlled congress, that finally killed Glass-Steagall? Anybody think that was a good idea? Just asking?

"BILL CLINTON: Well, maybe everybody does that a little bit. I think the responsibility the Democrats have may rest more in resisting any efforts by Republicans in the Congress or by me when I was President to put some standards and tighten up a little on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac."

Welll, just look at this. Oh my.... Sounds like a little payback to me.

They have four years to destroy Palin at their leisure.

They only have 40 days to submarine Obama.

They'll worry about Palin when the time comes.

Not only that, the Clintons lose all political clout after the er, black wing of the Democratic Party takes over.
