First presidential debate still up in the air as campaigns shuffle schedules

UTICA, New York - Republican John McCain's poll numbers improved slightly as he suspended his campaign Wednesday to head back to Washington to focus on the looming national financial crisis, moving from more than three points behind Barack Obama last weekend to two points ahead in a Zogby Interactive survey just out of the field this morning.

This linked on Drudge.

“The presidential election might be a tight race now, but one of the country’s top pollsters thinks the race will end in an electoral landslide.

John Zogby, president of Zogby International, told a group of businesspeople today that it’s up to Democratic Sen. Barack Obama to convince voters to go with him. If he’s not successful, the country will likely vote for “a comfortable old shoe”, that being Republican Sen. John”

Yeah it’s all crap. I think this election has been over for months, but we all have to wait till election day to see how it turns out. I know there’s a swing vote but I think people are firm. The polls are just sensationalism.

It’s going to break HARD for McCain now.
It’s over for 0bama.
He’s been out-played and out-classed.

The House GOP will offer a Republican alternative that actually deals with the reforms necessary to clean up the mess, rather than just throwing good money after bad, leaving the Democrats holding the $700 billion bag for the Bush-0bama bailout.

McCain will take it to the Senate as the lead sponsor and Lieberman will sign on.
Republicans will line up behind McCain in both chambers, and Democrats will be forced to go along.

From here on out, McCain and the GOP will dominate the 2008 election.

“Hope God is on McCain’s side.”

I’m sure He is! Why would God be on the side a guy who’s pastor and mentor says “God D*** America”?

I agree with you, but I think the Almighty will be more pleased if we pray, as Lincoln and Sarah Palin prayed, that we be on God’s side.

Zogby Interactive is the internet poll. It’s worthless.

The trend is what's important.

Zogby Interactive was one of the most accurate polls in 2004, but it wasn't nearly as good in 2006.

This poll suggests to me that the race is going to go right down to the wire. Despite Zogby's claims, I don't see either guy opening up much of a lead down the stretch.

I think McPalin will pull out a close one at the wire.

Let’s see, McCain’s leading and that’s not even counting 6 points worth of racists who’ll vote McCain because he’s not black. But it’s also not counting all the dead and alien voters who plan to vote for big o. I do think people looked up yesterday and noticed McCain dropped everything and put country first, while o continued posturing for the MSM.

Basically, all the polls tell us is that the race is close.

Rassmusen has McCain going to hell in a hand basket on the state level in his latest polling. It will be interesting to see the next round of polling. Encouraging to see Zogby still showing it as a tight race.
