(Sept. 26, 2008) "Couric Diminishes Gov. Palin" Media elites are deliberately trying to hide Palin's experience by refusing to call her governor:
Quote: CBS News anchor Katie Couric ordered staff to drop all references to "Governor" or "Gov." from her interview with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. When a staff member pointed out that in other venues, Couric and CBS News had referred to Governor Palin's opponent, Joe Biden, using his title of "Senator" or the abbreviation, Couric, according to a CBS News editorial aide, sought approval from CBS News management to drop the "Governor" reference during her broadcast interview with Palin that began on Wednesday night. ... Producers and editorial staff at both NBC and ABC report that fellow staffers have openly ridiculed Palin, her professional and personal background and her family during production meetings, in the editing bays during video editing for nightly news stories, and while covering Palin at political events.
Ultimately the higher ups at CBS News agreed, saying that wherever possible, the reference to "Governor" should be struck from graphics, scripts and published transcripts (http://www.theamericanprowler.com/ds...p?art_id=13947)
but David Broder says that there is no bias in the medjia, so obviously SeeBS has a fair and balanced reason for doing that.
and nobody ever bring this up to katie? no one challenges her? we get freeper news and that is it? why isnt anyone getting in that little princesses face and asking why biden gets the ‘senator’ appended to his name, but Governor Palin doesnt rate a title before her name?
Wow....just Wow....

Oh, I expected this...
this is a standard girl fight tactic, to belittle your opponent by calling her “hon” or by first name or calling attention in a sweet way to a bad feature
Katy Couric is just fighting by girl rules...bless her heart
I’m sure Sarah dealt with worse than this in the PTA
I don’t understand why she keeps doing interviews with the totally left-wing MSM, she gains nothing from it and it’s just an opportunity to be mistreated and ridiculed by a hateful interviewer who’s hellbent on making her look bad.
No surprise here but I doubt that it will make much difference. It has always been my experience that when one declines the opportunity to address a person by their proper title, one simply diminishes themselves.
A paper trail on this would sure be a big help. Anybody have any documents?
Those friggin bastids. I hate them more and more all the time...the unfairness makes me sick.
Words fail me.
Simply an honor that goes clear back to when Joe an FDR went on the tube in 1929 to discuss the Depression with America.
Is she still on the air ping?
So what did Couric call her, “Hey you?”
katie.. shut up!
Undoubtedly, Katie is as biased as they come.
But I saw the interview with Palin last night and looking at it from a purely unemotional and critical point of view, I didn’t think she did too well. She looked nervous and unprepared.
