New York Sun ^ | September 26, 2008 | Staff

President Peres of Israel yesterday met for the first time with Governor Palin and with Senator McCain, who called the veteran Israeli statesman "my old friend." /snip/ "I wanted to meet you for many years," Ms. Palin told Mr. Peres, according to an aide to the president. "The only flag at my office is an Israeli flag," she was quoted as saying, "and I want you to know and I want Israelis to know that I am a friend."

I’m sure that this isn’t being reported acurately. I’m sure she said/meant the only ‘foreign’ flag in my office is an Israeli flag.

Anyone looking for media bias?

Obama: "McCain hasn't meantioned my Muslim faith --"
Stephanopolous: "You mean your Christian faith."
Obama: "Oh, right. Anyway ..."

Palin: "The only flag in my office is an Israeli flag."
Journalist: "She said it wrong! She left out 'from a foreign country'! This is great! Run with this! Ya-hoo!"

This is an old story. I first read it a day or two after she was announced as the VP pick.

I didn’t think that the Sun was part of the leftist propaganda mill and maybe they aren’t as I don’t quite see this as a negative. It appears to be rather poorly written.

I notice that the leftist propaganda media just recycles already debunked stories about Governor Palin. This is all they can do at this point because there simply isn’t anything of substance that they can point to as an “AHA!”. The only other thing they can do is call her names.

For many years the New York Sun was a thoughtful, solidly conservative NY daily.

Recently, it was in serious financial trouble, and was not expected to survive.

It looks like the paper has had a complete make-over into a NYSlimes clone.

Other than the American flag, obviously.

Actually there is an American Flag, An Alaskan Flag and the little Israel flag taped to the window. She got it from some "friends" who came back from a trip to Israel. At least two films include this detail hiding in the background as they covered a visit to the Governors office.

The first two pictures show Palin meeting with Dennis Fentie, the Premier of the Yukon territory (Canada). IOW, she’s meeting with a leader from a foreign country. They were working on the “Alaska-Yukon Accord” — an international agreement. There’s more here, from the Yukon perspective: http://www.gov.yk.ca/news/2008/08-043.html

Iraq is the first unannounced victory the US ever had. It would be foolish to make it official just yet — if ever. So the confusion is understandable. Leave it to the rats to try and exploit our need for diplomacy.
