FR’s retro look is great. They fixed the problem of open tags. As long as there aren’t entire threads plagued with green, blinking, bold text, I’m happy with the look.

Back in the day, I had a “tag close bomb” saved in a text file to get rid of open HTML tags.

The debate thread moved just fine this evening. There doesn’t seem to be a big bandwidth problem.

Ah, the old days when the italians occasionally had the run of the place...

Fix the server issues. The look is good enough, and any changes should only be after dealing with the current performance problems.

OK, fine. Long time multi-year monthly here.

Performance has been an issue for much of the last several months.

Oh please, no flashy colors, no ads, I’ll just donate. And keep it in black and white.

But that hasn’t helped. I don’t know what the problem is, not a techie, but it IS frustrating. Very. And since I’m a monthly donor, I guess I’m allowed to comment. :-)

Yes, we installed the three new servers, but only two of them were utilized tonight. They were added on as additional web servers, serving up the pages. The third one is going to be brought on as an additional database server. But the entire system will have to be brought down for two or three hours to do that. John’s hoping to make that installation in the middle of the night tonight. The web servers performed great tonight. They were hardly even breathing hard with double our usual load, but the database was just about peaked out. We should see a great improvement next week.
